Shower Shield 9" x 9" SS99 PICC Line Cover Moisture Barrier - 2 Week Supply (Pack of 14) - Waterproof Wound Cover, PICC Line Shower Cover

I purchased these because I am wearing a Zio Patch heart monitor for two weeks. In the directions for the monitor they warn you against getting it wet. The patch is adhered to your chest and is about 2" x 5". They tell you that you can shower but to keep your back to the water. All I can say is good luck with that! There is no way to rinse your neck or armpits without some water running down your chest. So I looked into some way to cover it up while showering and found these on Amazon. I got the 9 x 9 inch ones but somewhat smaller would have also worked. I had to shave my chest and wipe it with rubbing alcohol to apply the Zio Patch, so I did the same for the Shower Shields. I also put a strip of medical type tape across the top of the shield to insure that no water runs under the top edge. It works great; I've taken several showers since I got these and no water has gotten under them to ruin the Zio Patch yet. My only complaint is that there is a bit of pain when I remove the shield after showering - they stick that well! I recommend shaving the area where the adhesive is on the shield; I'm pretty sure water would leak through around the hair and the hair would be pulled out anyway when you pull the shield off!

Make sure you clean area to be applied with alcohol, let dry, then clean with alcohol a second time. Once dried for second time, then cover. Will last and seal for average shower. If you only clean area with alcohol once, or don't let dry, bandage WILL fall off.

I started dialysis again recently, they put a cath at the hospital and provided me with shower covers ( same as here). I do not go in the shower directly, I use a shower hose and shower body sections at a time ( from bottom to top). The pictures above are before and after showers. Pros: decent cover, enough for me to not get my catheter wet. size is arguable enough. does hold on my body if not in the heat for a long period of time ( I clean where the adhesive tape will be with alcohol ). Cons: 1. like people say the adhesive tape does not hold too much to the body, after a while, it does start peeling off. 2. A little too expensive, I don't know how hard it would be to make this, but it should be cheaper. in my opinion. 3. Could be a little bigger, maybe an inch or so, I guess it depends on the type of catheter, the gauze that covers the tip of the end of my cath, gets wet most of the time, doesn't matter how I try to cover it. Overall to me, it's a decent product, I know the way I shower is probably annoying for people ( and it is), but you should not be on a long term catheter for dialysis, at this moment is only because covid hospitals are not doing surgeries(waiting for Peritoneal cath).

These shower shields work great. I also put waterproof tape around the edges for extra protection because my husband cannot get his dialysis port wet.

The pros: the bandages are latex free, they are large in size and came very very quickly, thank you!! I bought these a few days ago for my lower back incision thats about 7 inches long/tall. I had my 5th back surgery last week and needed to cover my incision that is still healing, for some of my showers. Unfortunately, the first time I used this it immediately (within 5 seconds) leaked at the top and let water in the top of the shower bandage causing it to fill up with water and fully submerge my incision. This is the exact thing I was trying to avoid as I cannot submerge my incision. I found my self sitting on my shower chair, twisting one arm back to try and hold the shower bandage against my back while trying to wash my hair with one arm and hold the nozzle. I’m not allowed to twist and it was a nightmare 🙈The second time I used this shower bandage it worked fairly decent. So I’m a little mixed on the efficacy of this product. But I will say again, the price is amazing, the larger size is great and the fact that they’re latex free is a MUST for me as I do have a latex allergy. I ordered them around midnight and got them by 1pm, which was amazing! I would suggest having someone help you put it on if you can and if you’re going to be seated while showering, on a bench/chair etc, have the bandage put on while you’re in that sitting position. Also I’d made sure the area is dry and clean, no lotions or anything greasy in that area prior to applying it.

My mother has a permacath for her dialysis and I've been using these when showering her. The best thing about these is that it is easy to separate! The others I've tried were so hard to separate that I would end up wasting 2-3 each time I'd shower her. These are easy to put on, stick well and easy to take off. My mother is in her mid 70s and has very thin skin and she has been doing really well with it. She doesn't get the red marks after we take if off and it doesn't make her itchy. This product has been a huge help to me as it saves me time with not having work hard to separate the sheets and a huge help to her because it gives her a sense of normalcy (who doesn't feel better after a shower?).

Water shield does not adhere to skin at all. There is no way that you could shower with the expectation that the product will protect area beneath the shield. Extremely disappointing when I attempted to return the defective item & to my surprise the item is non-refundable. Nowhere on the description does it indicate that it is nonrefundable. In addition, I have never purchased an item on Amazon before that was non-refundable. The item is trash.

They're a good size to cover the dialysis catheter, but they don't stick very well, and the area gets wet. This is what the nurses described as "a bad thing" Also, the say it's 2 packs of 7, but only sent one - email to the seller has been met by crickets, thus far
