My favorite new plates/forgot to add the stars!
Love these - of course great for pasta, but also wonderful for large ingredient salads or eggs and toast; I made a grilled cheese & added a small salad.Good in the microwave, easy to clean, nice glazed finish, great price. Ordered the khaki because they worked nicely with dishes I already have; but truthfully, have my eye on theDeep Blue color too…..!

Flat Plates for the Win
About a year ago, I ordered my first set of the flat-bottomed pasta plates, with a straight side rim. They are the same size as a normal dinner plate, but because they are flat-bottomed, with no designed rim, they hold twice as much food as a normal dinner plate. I got a set of four, and we use them for dinner almost every night. I have often wished I had a smaller set of these, and this Herogo set is perfect. They are a little less than 8" in diameter, with a 1.5" deep rim. This size is so perfect for salads, pasta, stews, casseroles, chili, sandwiches, etc. They encourage me to use smaller portions, which is a good thing for me. They are made of a good quality stoneware, but are not cumbersome or heavy. This makes them a nice choice for eating on the sofa or chair in the living room (game night, anyone?), or for carrying around small appetizers or desserts. A set of 6 is just a bit over $20 (as of this writing), which is a great deal. I am a huge fan of the flat-bottomed dishware, and will not willingly buy any other kind from now on.

Spacious and Sturdy Pasta Bowls
These generously sized pasta bowls are a fantastic addition to any kitchen. They're not only perfect for pasta but also versatile enough for serving soups, curries, and more. The durable construction ensures that your food stays warm, making them ideal for enjoying hearty meals. While the bowls offer ample space for generous portions, their large size and weight might require a bit more storage space and careful handling. It's recommended to wash them on the bottom rack of your dishwasher to prevent breakage.Despite these minor considerations, the overall quality and versatility of these pasta bowls make them a worthwhile investment for any home cook.

Extremely versatile shape/size
Overall the dishes are good color and weight. They are white--not that bright white you seem with some porcelain or Corelle dishes. The weight is nice -- they feel sturdy but not heavy bricks that some stoneware dishes have. The stack ok -- they do not nest, but you also don't feel like they are just going to be unstable either. As far as the dish itself and for food -- they are in line for American size pasta portions (definitely too big for Italian portions), and I think they are also good for salad serving-- better than being cramped in a salad bowl but the lip also keeps your lettuce from wanting to jump ship. I'm not so sure about a soup bowl -- it will hold the portions, but the lip isn't that high, so you wouldn't really be able to dip in a spoon to get full spoonfuls for long, you would have to resort to tipping the bowl to create that will from which to spoon from. These plates would work well for dishes that have some liquid (stews or some other casserole type dishes) that might spill from a normal plate but a bowl isn't quite required.

"Where'd we get these fancy plates..."
was the first word out of my children's mouth when I served dinner on these pasta plates. They are "fancy" without even trying.First of all, they're sturdy, there is a nice weight to them, without being ridiculously heavy. They are a great size for large servings of pasta or saucey meals. I think soup/cereal may be hard because the sides aren't that high, but stews and chilis may work.On top of the quality of the bowl, the stoneware has a nice speckle to it, giving it a touch of design and style without going overboard or having a print that may go out of style. The only downside is they take up a lot of space, but they're more than worth it!
