Retro goodness in a small package
So after testing it out for a good few months, I can safely say this is everything I could want in device like this one. Runs not just your standard games but fanmade too! It's very customizable if you know how, didn't care too much for the game selection, but that's not an issue if you know how to load it up with your own. Very portable, even for my small pockets, makes it a fun item for your EDC. Battery life is really good too, I've left this device powered off for over a week in a purse, turned it on and it still has about 70% on it. Plays PSP, PS1 fine, but N64? Not a chance, there is definitely lag and missing assets. Best to stick with N games before the DS era, It plays GB to GBA games flawlessly. The ebook, music, videos options are a plus, I've already added a selection of my own collection, turning this device into a multimedia hub and imo bumps up the value of the device. It does not have an internet browser and depending on your needs this could be good or bad, for me it's perfect, I've been wanting to cut back on my phone screentime, and I'm sure parents will love that young kids can't access the internet. Bluetooth is great, had no problem setting that up. Haven't hooked it up to a TV yet, but I'm sure it'll look great.

Best Linux Handheld
One of the best handhelds to be made ever. While yes, GBA SP's still exist, this modded Linux system literally lets you play anything up to Dreamcast. The build and size is amazing with a max of 1080p HDMI output. Get muOS on here ASAP and game away!

This Device Is A Joke
This thing is a horrible product. Everything glitches. The language on the game screens is Japanese. The games came up sideways on the screen. It took me a while to find the setting to fix that. The Bluetooth does not work, period. No matter how many times and reboots I tried, it will not connect to any Bluetooth device. It sees the device, it says it is connected to the device, but it isn't.Every change to a setting requires a reboot.Saving progress on a game is defunct.Any time a character speaks, their voice is choppy, even in HD.And most of the games are not designed for a tiny screen. They are unplayable.I could go on and on, and this is just after a half hour of use. Way too many problems/faults. I'm returning for a refund.

Kinda disappointed
Firstly, I'm not a techie millennial - I just wanted to play classic GBC/GBA Pokemon games again. I learned of this item from TikTok, which was sold out, and found it here at a much inflated price point. The green color was available, so naturally I mentally concluded "why not". I got it yesterday. I also purchased another model to compare. The device arrived yesterday evening and it felt like I was reliving a late 1990's Christmas. The actually device itself is very nice, just like the original - super sleek and chic. However, all the games I hoped would be installed on it such as ANY Pokemon, which in are not preinstalled. I'm going to trouble shoot how to get some of my favorites downloaded on there but just from general searching, looks really complicated. If I can't get them on there, I'm sending mine back even though I absolutely love the device, the screen, the volume and the overall layout of the Botton controls. Hope this helps someone out.

Great for retro 2D gaming
While I was researching the market for these, I was frustrated because there a different sets of reviews for each vendor who is selling these on Amazon. I'm usually uncomfortable with devices that have low numbers of reviews. All of these things made me conclude that the Anbernic devices are low quality. Then I did a deep dive on YouTube. The wide adoption of raspberry pi for embedded computing needs has resulted in commoditized game boys with mature, quality, open source feature sets, and this realization couldn't make me happier. Other reviews are going to say stay away unless you know how to tinker with emulator and linux stuff. I say if you don't know how to look up and follow YouTube tutorials, then you are failing at life. Seriously, this unit is great for retro 2D gaming and I'm proud to say that I'm going to spend lots of free time using it. Extra nostalgia points for faithfully recreating the SP.

Faulty battery
Initially did not hold a charge but this resolved after a few full charges. For the price, the screen is nice and buttons are responsive, but the speakers are prone to static or crackle.

I love this thing!
Great handheld device, give me that nostalgic feel of when I was a kid. Battery life lasts as advertised and getting the games on it was easy enough to figure out!
