Review: Keto (?) supplement, recommended dose is large! - In 2023 I was strict keto for the year, this year we cheat occasionally on the weekend. Having said that, mid-week meals are usually high on fat, medium protein and no carbs, so a ‘keto optimiser’ seemed like a good thing to try. It looks like they are really just digestive enzymes - and expensive ones at that. Having tried many brands of digestive enzymes and serrapeptase systemic enzymes in the past, it seems like they’re pricey for no discernable reason? They have rice extract in, which I don’t see as necessary, there are other non-carb fillers that could be used, although to be fair, it’s right at the bottom of the ingredient list so likely minimal. Meat and most fat is primarily digested in the stomach, while carbs are digested in the intestines. So when eating a low carb or keto diet, a great deal of the digestions is done pre-intestines, with the exception of course of the metric tonne of green veg you consume. I can kind of see why upping digestive enzymes is a good idea. In terms of practicalities, they are capsules, easy to swallow and have no taste or aftertaste. There is a mild smell though. The serving size is an odd one - it says to take four upon waking while fasted, and then two per meal for up to three meals per day. This is a max of 10 capsules per day - that’s an awful lot, and means the fifty odd quid bottle only lasts 12 days. That’s too high a price for me. I’ve taken two per day so far, and will continue to, and see how digestion goes. If I have less bloating and wind after a weekend cheat, we’ll consider them effective.
Review: Digestive support - These are in essence digestive support enzymes especially to support you if you are eating high fats or big calorie meals so it better supports the digestive systems with that. I think this is the reason why they refer to it as "Supports Keto Digestion" If you look at the bottle the suggestion is to take 4 capsules upon waking and then 2 with each meal making it a 10 capsule dose and therefore this would only last you for 12 days. This would not make sense unless you really needed that amount of Digestive support and you also had the budget to cover that and the assumption being that one bottle then will be enough to get your digestive system back in order for you to not need more. I have just been taking this as 2 capsules at the start of the day to support my digestive system and it does that well. I am not on a Keto diet so I am just using this as regular digestive support. Overall it does seem to be a well formulated digestive support but I do think they should explain usage and use cases better.

In 2023 I was strict keto for the year, this year we cheat occasionally on the weekend. The positives with these supplements, they are capsules so they do not smell when you open the bottle, and they are easy to swallow due to the size. The huge downside to these is the quantity you need to take to possibly get result as the literature is very careful to say these may help with weight loss. So you are supposed to take 4 on a morning when you wake up then 2 more per meal, with a maximum of an additional 6 a day making it up to 10 capsules a day, this feels excessive for a "may work".
