I came across some old S-VHS tapes that I was curious what was on them. I didn't want to spend a lot of money using a digitizing service. I found this converter online and it was a really low price. I figured I had nothing to lose by trying it. It was great! I'm using a MAC and it immediately installed the drivers and 2 clicks later I'm digitizing my tapes. There's virtually no controls in the MAC version. (I can't say anything about the Windows version). It records through QuickTime Player. Simply click the record button and it just works. They quality is exactly where it should be for handling 20-year old tapes. I'm a video editor by profession and I can assure you that this simple, economical device will do the job of converting your old tapes. My biggest problem was locating and old RCA cable to connect this to the VHS Machine. But that has nothing to do with this device. It's not designed to make your old tapes look better, but it will help you preserve your memories.

This product is working as advertised. I have. Lenovo PC with Window 11, it works well. It took me awhile to figure out the audio part, but it is on the Window 11 and screen recording software ShareX side, has nothing to do with this product.

This item works on my MacBook 2012 running Catalina. Video captured using Quicktime. The only thing I couldn't figure out was why there was no audio. You have to use the drop-down menu to select the correct audio input and make sure that Quicktime isn't on mute if you want to hear the audio playing back while capturing. The picture quality is great and couldn't have been easier. The included USB extension is a great addition allowing the use of both USB ports at the same time.

I plugged it into the back of my desktop PC, connected the AV components into my VCR. Loaded up OBS, and followed the instructions, and got it working in 5 minutes. However, it required some manual adjustments, and knowledge of OBS to tweak it to my liking. The results were okay for a $12 capture device.
