I read many of the customer reviews before committing to Ouddy Magnetic Knife Holder.The package arrived very securely and there were no issues with damage. After reading the advice, and seeing the photos, of other customers, I was very careful when unpacking the Ouddy Magnetic Knife Holder. And, as many customers sang the praises of the this product, I will too.The Stainless steel is clean and nice and works beautifully on the the stainless steel refrigerator and compliments the other stainless steel appliances in the kitchen.The strong hold securely attaches to the refrigerator and the knives are securely held on the Ouddy Magnetic Knife Holder. I initially attached two knives and, after seeing the secure hold, I attached the rest of my knives. Satisfied with the strength of this product, I added the sharpening steel and the scissors. They all are securely attached to the strip.Installment was a breeze!! Please, remember, this strip has a strong magnetic hold.Safety measures were evident, as the plastic strip between the magnate and the metal strip help eliminate bruising when separating the two.I also love the fact that the product is thin and, when attached to the refrigerator, it is not obtrusive. This is really important when children are in the house.This is a wonderful and elegant product.

I had an IKEA magnetic knife holder for years and loved the fact that all my food prep knives were so accessible. I just moved to my new house and had to quickly look for a new one since I had to leave mine behind. My biggest concern was whether this magnetic knife holder was going to be strong enough to hold all my knives. I decided to try this holder instead of driving 1.5 hours to the nearest Ikea. It was easy to install. After opening the package, I had to firmly pull the back plate piece away from the magnetic front piece. I tested the magnetic holder by sticking it on the side of my stainless steel fridge. The weight of 2 chef's knives made the magnet holder slide down slightly. Using the side of the fridge for my knife holder was definitely not going to work for me. So, I attached the back plate to the drywall beneath my cabinet with the 2 wall anchors and crews that were included. Then the front magnetic goes over that back plate to hide the hardware. As you can see, there is plenty of room for 8 knives and the large cleaver. I will have to add that the 3 longer knives (Santoku and chef's knives) slipped down slightly but stayed on the magnet. The magnet is so strong that the heavy meat cleaver doesn't even move. I am extremely pleased with this product.

I've had this knife strip for over a year now and I can say I'm quite impressed with it. One of my requirements for the bar was that it had to have one big strongmagnet (as oposed to a few smaller ones, those can only hold a specific number of knives and will fall if not correctly placed) it must be longer than 15", and priced under my budget of $20. This strip fit the bill on all accounts. It is however listed at 16" but actually measures 15.75" but I understand that is just standardization of sizing. It was easy to install there is a metal plate that is screwed into the wall (however if you have tile or don't want to put holes, mounting tape will work) and then the large magnet, which is glued to the inside of the outer strip, attaches itself to the mounted plate quite securely. Actually I would watch your fingers so they don't get pinched when first installing it because the magnet is so strong. When you get the knives close the strip pulls it the rest of the way as you see in my video. I have had zero issues with knives tilting or slipping and it sees nearly daily use. I'm actually considering buying another so I will have more space because I have more knives I wanna put up. If your in the market for a stainless knife bar under $20, I really reccomend this one.

I was pretty anxious to receive this product for my 450 sq ft small space and was not disappointed! I looked at other products, which were $2-5 cheaper than this product and almost fell prey to other products simply because of cost savings. I'm glad I didn't fall prey because those other products were shorter in length and doesn't come close in comparison with the style and sleek design the Ouddy magnetic utility holder potentially displays in my small space.While assembling (a child could do this) the magnetic bar's back end mounts to any dry wall or wooden frame. It comes with 2 dry wall mounting screw sets that is designed to have approx. 1 mm or 2 mm distance from the dry wall after completion of screwing (Please make note: I almost made the mistake of continuing to screw the mounting screws even further than it should, this would've damaged the dry wall and not give the "hanging affect" the magnetic bar is designed to display). In other words, screw it until it doesn't screw no more. After mounting your back magnetic piece you're 90% done, the last step is to attach the stainless steel bar to the magnet back end and WOLLA!!! You've completed your first stainless steel magnetic knife holder mounting assembly and your room finally looks like it could be on MTV cribs.I must add, I bought this product weeks ago prior to leaving this review and the only bad comment I could say is I'm glad I didn't buy anything smaller than the 16 in bar (not really a bad comment, but you get the idea). As you've seen on the advertised picture is what you're going to get, which as the other products sell 12, 14, or 16-18 inches which I would've been disappointed if I went forward with the other guys. Plus, they wouldn't make my room POP like the stainless steel Ouddy 16 inch Magnetic Knife Holder.After proofreading this, I should be a professional product reviewer (as I pat myself on the back).

I bought this as a gift for my wife to hold her new knives. She absolutely loves the look. One thing I'm a little disappointed in is that (at least with our knives) the magnet isn't strong enough to hold the knives straight. They all tilt just a bit, but that seems to bother me more than her. If you are concerned that the steel may scratch your knives, there's a little trick I figured out for that. I place the unsharpened edge of the blade against the bar and then turn the blade until it snaps into place against the magnet.As for mounting, she wanted it on the tile backsplash but was leery of drilling into the tile. I got some Loctite PowerGrab outdoor mounting tape. I cut nine 1.5" strips and spaced them evenly across the width of the mounting bar, with each strip running vertically. The instructions say that amount of tape should hold over 24 lbs. I let the tape strengthen the bond between the mounting bar and the tile for 24 hours before adding the magnetic bar over the top. It worked like a champ. That thing is not going anywhere.

Love this magnetic knife holder! I was looking for a knife holder that didn’t have to be attached to the wall, but could be magnetically attached to the side of my refrigerator. This one did not disappoint! There was another one that I almost bought that was a little smaller, more expensive, and made by the same manufacturer! I’m so glad I stumbled across this one.If you are going to be putting it on the side of your refrigerator, make sure you CAREFULLY remove the metal backing that is separated by a piece of plastic. Use the plastic to carefully lift the metal backing away from the knife holder. I stress carefully because the magnets are so strong that you can get a nasty pinch if you’re not careful. The same with placing it on the fridge. Do it slowly and carefully. I then put the metal backing in the box and put it away just in case I should ever decide to mount it on the wall.If you are wondering if this knife holder will be strong enough to actually hold knives, don’t even hesitate to buy it. I have 9 knives on it with no problems at all. It could manage to hold much more if there was room! 😆I am thoroughly pleased with this knife holder and I am sure you will be too! I bought this to use on the side of my refrigerator and it works well and nicely. The only problem was not knowing to remove the rear cover plate in order to stick it to the side of my refrigerator. I removed the protective, plastic strip but it wouldn't stick to my frig. After reading comments here, I realized I had to remove the rear cover plate and then had to pry it off the magnet - not an easy job. It would have been helpful it this had been in the instructions. Other than that, I really like it. It stays up nicely on my frig and holds my knives without any problem. I have about 8 of them and that fills the strip. I tried hanging kitchen shears on the strip but a) it was too crowded and b) they were a bit too heavy for the strip. Great little space saver and very happy with it.

First, I highly suggest you listen to folks who say to be very careful when putting the magnet back onto the wall strip. It's got SERIOUS pull and I can see how some people got fingers caught and injured. I held it carefully by the sides, making sure no body parts were past the back edge and everything went smoothly.I'm in the process of remodeling my VERY old (1950) kitchen and streamlining my cooking area as I go. These magnetic strips are absolutely perfect for having my knives close at hand but not being dulled in a drawer.As you can see, I bought 2. One for knives and one for measuring spoons (shown) and measuring cups (I still need to buy those). The spoons can double up and still hold nicely (Gorilla, here on Amazon). I wanted to try them first before I bought the cups to see how that would work. By doubling them, I'll have space for the gorilla cups ... which I'm off to buy. EDIT: after much review, magnetic measuring cups seem to be the wrong plan. I've purchased a nice set of stainless steel measuring cups that I'll hand on magnetic hooks instead.Enjoy!

If you love your cooking then this is an essential for easy access to those knives you constantly use.Looks great in your kitchen and you'll be so impressed not having to rummage around in your drawers for the knife your after. Saves accidents from happening as well.

Good, strong magnet running the length of the bar. I didn’t rate adhesion as I chose to drill into the backsplash and mount with the included screws and anchors. Once I got through the tile, installation was very easy and it seems quite sturdy so far
