I got this as my daughter has become fascinated with exercise and strength training, being my youngest, everyone else in the house is stronger than her and I think it really bothers her, so I've been getting her anything she wants to reduce the disparity between her and the rest of the family. This grip tester is not something that will make your hand happy with you if you try using it to increase your strength. I highly recommend getting various other items to improve your hand strength and using this tester to monitor your progress. it works and does a good job of measuring, although I have nothing else to compare the ratings too.

Works as intended and great for muscular therapy after an injury with the adjustable tension. Always fun to bring the grip tester to work or family events to see everyone compete lol

Great toy to get the guys together and see who has the strongest grip. Works well and is pretty simple to use.

I have 150lb metal grip trainers that I can squeeze but with some effort. I can squeeze the trainer in this set (132lb) pretty easy. I can deadlift to 315 without straps and double overhand grip. With the grip tester I'm struggling to break 111.8. Kinda odd that I'm hitting limit between normal and strong every time and can't pass it. Issue with the grips is that the seams aren't filed down and scrape the heck out of my pink. I used an xacto to smooth it out a bit but it's still pretty bad.

I didn't look close enough at the images to see that the numbers on the tester did not match the numbers on the item. The name has since been changed, but I included a snip from the email asking me to review it - it said 397 lb / 180kg. The tester maxes our at 90kg/198lb. The trainer says it goes up to 60kg (~132lb) of resistance. Adding those doesn't total to the numbers that were advertised. The quality of the grip trainer is not great. The counter has stopped working and only displays 8888 now. The counter unit is also loose in the handle. The bottom of the grip has a ridge that should have been shaved off, it doesn't feel good to use because of that, especially at full resistance. The cap on the adjustment knob also fell off just a few minutes ago. I have only used it a handful (heh) of times since I received it on October 3rd. Giving 2 stars because they changed the listing name already, but the quality is still not great. Then again, that is to be expected when looking for the cheapest option.
