A feel good story
I am reading fiction after almost ten years (I am a 27 years old female). All this while I was reading self-help books that contain more or less the same content so I got bored of them and during the pandemic I stopped reading books altogether. I tried reading some books on the phone but would easily get distracted and discontinue the book. I was getting desparate to get back into my reading habit so without giving it much thought I orderd this book. When I received it, I was shocked to see how thin it was. I could finish it within an hour or two, I thought. But I ended up reading just one chapter a day over the course of a week whilst thoroughly enjoying the art illustrations and absorbing all the information at a slow pace. I feel, it has somewhat healed my inner child. The story is very simple with a moral that I'm sure kids would benefit greatly from. As an adult, I could foresee how it would end yet had a child-like excitement to read the next chapter. I guess I was missing this kind of genuine excitement for reading books, so I'm grateful for this book to help me get out of the reader's slump. Ever since I finished this book, I have gotten more such books that are primarily meant for childre as I'm enjoying their simplistic narration and subtle lessons.

Beautiful story 👍🏻💕❤️🩹
The Blue Umbrella by Ruskin Bond is a heartwarming story set in a small village in India. It follows Binya, a young girl who trades her lucky leopard-claw pendant for a beautiful blue umbrella. The umbrella becomes her prized possession, and the villagers admire and envy it. Ram Bharosa, an old shopkeeper, grows jealous of Binya's umbrella and desperately wants it for himself. He tries to acquire it through dishonest means, leading to a series of events that teach both him and Binya valuable lessons about kindness, generosity, and forgiveness. The story highlights themes of greed, innocence, and the power of compassion. In the end, Binya shows maturity by giving Ram Bharosa the umbrella, and he, in turn, realizes his mistake. The book is a simple yet profound tale about human nature and morality.

The book is amazing and as innocent and pure as any Ruskin Bond book you'll find. But the guys who have translated it into the Kindle edition (Ninestars Information Technologies Ltd.) have done an amazingly bad job. The first alphabet of every chapter is not aligned and there are some spelling mistakes as well. I wish somebody else had made the Kindle edition instead of Ninestars Information Technologies Ltd. I totally recommend the book but see if you can lay your hands on a Kindle edition that has been made by anyone other than Ninestars Information Technologies Ltd. because these guys suck big time or better still buy the paperback version.
