Having just had another refresher tactical trauma class, I realized this was missing from my kit. It should be a vital component. It is described as a quick clotting gauze, and to use it for serious trauma, it should be incrementally stuffed into the hole or cavity while maintaining pressure. Fold the remaining strip up and place on top of the wound while using firm pressure until the bleeding stops. DO NOT REMOVE OR CLOTTING MAY NOT OCCUR.
