desertcart.com: 1/8 Bleeding Valve - LOT of 5 : Industrial & Scientific Review: Great bleeders. - Excellent bleeder. Great quality and easy to install. Once I filled the radiators these bleeder worked perfectly without any issues. Review: Perfect replacement for my radiant baseboard boiler piping - I have a 100 year old house with baseboard boiler heat piping. At the high point of each run is a vertical pipe with a pressure relief valve. They been painted over for years. Well, when air purging the boiler this season, the valve would not stop dripping, even after closed. I assume paint or mineral build up was preventing the valve from fully closing. I went to local hardware stores, and none of them had 1/8 purge valve, except for the type with petcock butterfly on them, which are okay for under the hood of your car, but not your living room. So I took a shot on these, and they screwed in perfectly and don't drip. And instead of a butterfly handle, they are discreetly opened and closed with a flathead. I only needed one for now, but I have four zones, so I have a backup supply now. And Ace hardware want $8 just for the ugly petcock, so it's definitely a great deal.

Save a lot of labor cost and do it yourself with these
Easy replacement for my gunked up/leaking decades old radiator valves. Oil company replaced one valve that wouldn't stop dripping for around $90. Other than making sure the pressure is completely relieved (don't forget the expansion tanks!) this as simple a diy project as you can as for. When we needed work done on the boiler a month later, having the new valves in place made bleeding the radiators much easier.
