Great device overall, once you understand how it works
PROS: Reliable Fairly Compact Versatile CONS: Requires separate power Form factor might work better as a dongle as opposed to a brick Great device overall. Does what I need it to do. Just to be clear about what this is: This is a Zigbee-controlled device that simply switches a USB connection on or off. This means it can be used in between a USB power brick and a USB device to turn something on or off or some people use it to connect or disconnect a USB data connection since it also works for that. These are very specific use cases but as long as you know what you're buying, it works great. This biggest thing to note is that IT DOES NOT PROVIDE POWER. If your USB source is not providing power, this will be useless. This means it needs to be connected to a powered device such as a USB power brick, computer, car, charger, or anything that is providing USB power. The only bad thing I can say about it is that its form-factor might be an issue in some cases considering it's cube-shaped. If it were shaped like a dongle it might allow it be used in tighter spaces.

Perfect zigbee usb plug
Perfect for a usb desk lamp. Doesn’t take up too much space in the plug brick I use. The only “quirk” is my Alexa hub doesn’t recognize that the plug did indeed turn on or off so I’ll get a no response message when I use Alexa to trigger but it definitely turned on or off.

"Alexa, turn on the flux capacitor"
That's not a joke. I built a flux capacitor-themed RF choke display that uses a fiber optic illuminator for the glow effect, and this switch is what controls the USB power to it. A Zigbee motion sensor triggers it on when someone enters the garage; a SmartThings automation then turns it off automatically after 30 minutes — both for energy efficiency and thermal management of the illuminator. And because I use the SmartThings Alexa connector, the switch showed up in Alexa automatically, no extra configuration needed. Hence the voice command. Pairing in SmartThings was straightforward. At least one other reviewer mentioned needing to install an app; I didn't experience that — SmartThings discovered it without any additional software. If you're pairing directly without a hub like SmartThings, that app may well be part of the process. This doesn't plug into a wall outlet — it plugs into a USB-A port, whether that's a power cube, a surge protector, or anything else with a USB-A output. The form factor is compact, noticeably smaller than most USB power cubes. There's a manual push button on the side for on/off control, which is genuinely handy during setup and testing, and useful in any scenario where you want local control without pulling out your phone. Worth knowing: if you have an Echo device with a built-in Zigbee hub, you may be able to skip SmartThings entirely and pair directly to Alexa. That's a simpler path for less complex setups. One feature I didn't expect to use but now appreciate: it functions as a Zigbee repeater. My Zigbee temperature sensor in the garage routes its signal through this switch. In a space where your Zigbee mesh needs a little help reaching, this earns its place twice over. About a month of daily use with no issues. Clean output, reliable switching, no complaints.

Works great with my Hubitat
Used the generic zigbe profile, not the sonoff template, controls my kids led lights so they are not on all night long. Not sure about the app since I just use Hubitat, but gets the job I needed done perfectly.

Love it
This was exactly what I was looking for and it so far works every time I trigger it with my Hubitat automation.

After a long setup and giving my info, still doesnt work
Doesn't work. I already had Zigbee smart plugs but for some reason had to download yet another app and had to give up my info to register, which I shouldnt need to use a smart plug. Then after all this, it informs me that it only works with 2.4Gz wifi. Since it is not 2015, I haven't used that network in years, i didnt know any modern device would only work on 2.4Gz. I could have just set $18 on fire and would be in the same position.

Works great after some trial and error
I used this in an unconventional way in creating my cordless lamp which is now part of my Aeotec SmartThings system. After some trial and error, my cordless lamp automatically turns on at 8pm, automatically turns off a nearby light, then turns itself off at 11pm. Note: In conjunction with the SONOFF Zigbee Smart USB Outlet, I also used a SwitchBot Smart Switch Button Pusher (Available via Amazon) but maybe a MOES Fingerbot Plus Smart Button Pusher (Available via Amazon) would be better.

The fact this also has data passthrough is amazing
I never thought I would see a product like this but here we are. Not only is this basically a tiny smart plug for USB powered device, it also will let data pass through. Essentially, you can use this to cut off data between devices. One nice use case is having USB devices turn off on a KVM switch. Often times these switch have external power and will keep devices running even if the PCs are off. So with this switch, you can cut off power and data when you're not using them. Overall, a simple but very useful little usb smart plug.

Ottimo

Keeps dropping off the network
The idea is nice, but it fails to integrate in home assistant via Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus V2. This ZBMicro keeps dropping off the network overy 20 seconds, turned on → unavailable → turned on → unavailable. Despite a nice 5V 2A power adapter and no load.

Simple, effective
This does exactly what it claims to do. It was very easy to add to Home Assistant. It's incredibly handy if you want basic remote control of little USB-powered lights or similar. So far it has been completely reliable, controlling one of those funny galaxy projector lamps- not the hardest load to drive, but still probably not an unusual use case. If you need a thing to do what this does, this is a thing that does it. It's small, not too pricey and so far has been reliable. The best compliment I can give it is that you forget it's there- which is ideal.
