Pay attention to the negative reviews!
I thought that this was an excellent pump for my pond, at least in the specs. Worked great for about 3 weeks, then just quit. It will start for a few seconds, then the E3 error code pops up and it stops. No support from the manufacturer. This series does not even show up on its website. Caveat emptor!

Easy to remove and clean debris cover.
I love that you can control the flow and pause the pump for a quick clean up instead of having to unplug/plug it with wet hands. It handles moving plenty of water in my duck/koi aquaponics pond with ease.

What a bummer/Wondering where Amazon is getting its products??!
Longevity question is to early to answer. Pump stopped working. Received May 12th immediately put in pond on May 13th. Woke up May 18th pump stopped working. Can smell burning wire??!Got replacement pump set the program for hi water flow and it changes itself back to low water flow. If I program this pump it shouldn’t change back to what it wants. I tried to get a pump that did variable things and this pump is junk in my opinion.

Great pump, plenty of power and settings.
I only used this for a day in the pond / waterfall I just built. This ended up being to powerful for our small setup even on the low setting (2000gph). I thought I did my research on how to size a pump but this ended up being to much for what we needed. This had no issue pumping up 4 feet almost vertical to an 8” wide spillway and back Into a small 50 gallon pond.It did work great and I liked the different gph settings.I can’t speak to the longevity but it did work well and offered a 2 year warranty.

Note the reviews about the connector
I am on my fourth Commando 3000. The first one stopped after 3 months after a heavy rain storm. The second lasted one month and was replaced. Again after a rain storm. I thought it was due to moisture possibly in the connector, so I protected the connector inside a conduit. This kept the pump working for over a year. Then the same failure occurred after washing the window above the connector site. This time I replaced the control device but not the pump and it worked fine for three weeks but again a heavy rain. Now after reading these reviews I will try the rewiring trick. Of course I have three controllers and two pumps to experiment with.

Second time I am buying this pump for my Koi Pond
Its a good pump the first time I bought it for my koi pond, lasted 3 years. In August of 21 the pump burned out so I ordered a new one. The second pump is a direct replacement of the old with the Command Center module, which worked for 2 months. I noticed the error code was "ES" and pump would not start. I suspect ES is electric service, which when I looked at the cable connection, it was sparking. I clipped and spliced the wires and matched the 3 colors together and put everything back and plugged it in. works like a charm and I'm back in business. I think the rain water got into the connection and short circuited the connectors. So if this is the issue with yours, thry this instead of buying another set. thanks I hope it will last a few years more. -Mike S.

Pond pump
Bought this pump in April and has been running great since I installed in my pond. I selected the speed at the lowest rpm and it supplies a good flow to my waterfall. This low rpm speed is good on my electric bill. Very happy so far.

Great customer service
We purchased this product last year and only used it for a couple of months before we had to store away, worked perfect for what we were using for (pond) during that time.. this spring we placed back in pond, and it worked great for a few weeks then died. we tried everything. we reached out to the manufacture but was not anticipating much help since it was puchased last year. However, within DAYS I received a call and their CS told me they were sending a new pump at no cost to me within 4 days. this was a huge surprise and pleasant at that. The pump was great, when it worked but nice knowing the product has such a great CS behind it. :)
