Not a professional tool but worked well for what i needed it for. Would recommend it for DIY users if high grade finish is nor required.

I just finished using the WEN 6528 3.8-Amp Electric Hand Planer, 2-3/8-Inch on an outdoor deck to shave several rain-swollen boards down to a usable thickness again. The WEN 6528 was, frankly, a surprise. It is inexpensive, solid, rugged and lightweight. I was able to plane though this very awkward project in record time. The smooth, powerful operation stripped off layer after layer of wood on several boards and, although they highly recommend you DON'T, I was even able to lightly run it diagonally and across the grain on boards that were solidly attached to the deck. This is probably a little lightweight for a professional contractor, but if you are a regular person with an annoying, difficult project, the WEN 6528 really earns its five stars.

This is a great little tool for the price. Simple and easy to use and very effective in removing wood quickly. It kicks out a lot of very fine shavings so an after market containment system would be a useful addition. I also have a Wen pneumatic roofing nailer and I really like that as well. I put over 3,000 nails through it no problem. For the planer, integrating some sort of grip on the front end would be useful. You can use the depth adjustment knob but it’s not designed for that and not comfortable. Overall, definitely worth it and for the cost, it pays for itself after just a few uses. Definitely beats a manual hand planer or sander.

Works better than expected. I was very suppressed and how accurate this thing is for leveling doors. Especially old solid core pine doors. Works great. Very smooth.

Our family has been using Wen products for years. They're sturdy, well-built, function exactly as expected and have an OUTSTANDING user manual that is well written, easy to understand and amply illustrated. (The big guys could take notice - it's so much easier to follow than the tiny phone fonts.) This planer has been amazing - lightly removed the irregularities from a door that got caught in a flood. Now we can decide whether to refinish or cover with a kickplate.

Five stars for the value factor of this planer. I needed to trim down a few doors that were sticking in our second home, and didn't want to spend a ton of money for this one project. For under 30 bucks I ordered this one based on the pretty good reviews. It arrived quickly and I was immediately impressed with eth build quality at that price point. The size and relative light weight of this planer made it perfect for this project. Plenty of power and sharp blades out of the box made the job easy. Too easy on one door as I took off a bit more than needed, but that was all my fault. Now I'm looking for other jobs that need doing so I can break this planer out again. It certainly is not a high end woodworking tool, but for simple quick and dirty jobs like this it is perfect and won't break the bank.

I purchased this electric planner to make old door fit into existing frames. The planner needs some fine tuning which unfortunately the instructions do not instruct you on how to tune it. As others in the reviewd have pointed out, there are youtube tutorials on how to do this. It requires some minor filing and adjustment and then you will be good to go. Once its tuned, I found the planner cuts straight and accurately. I wish it came with a bag attachment as the filings go everywhere. These can be bought seperately but it would have been nice to have included. Otherwise, this is a great tool for the price point.

Me gustó mucho, funciona muy bien. Es mucho, mucho más rápido que usar una lijadora y deja un mejor acabado, aunque se necesita práctica para dejar la superficie totalmente plana y pareja. Lo único que no me gustó es que no trae bolsa para los residuos, tal vez porque seleccione la versión más económico pero me deje llevar por otros comentarios que decían que si la traía.
