I’ve been using the safe 5 for a few weeks now, and overall, I’m very impressed with its design, security, and ease of use. It feels like a true next-generation hardware wallet — sleek, fast, and very secure. The setup process was simple and well-explained. It only took a few minutes to create my PIN, generate the recovery seed, and connect it to my computer. The touchscreen is bright and responsive, and the new haptic feedback makes it feel premium and modern compared to older models. I really appreciate how intuitive the interface is. Navigating through menus and confirming transactions is smooth and fast. The build quality is excellent — it’s lightweight but feels durable, with a nice matte texture that resists fingerprints. In terms of performance, the Safe 5 supports a wide range of cryptocurrencies, and connecting it with wallets like Trezor Suite or MetaMask works perfectly. I’ve used it to manage Bitcoin, Ethereum, and several ERC-20 tokens without any issues. The security features are top-notch. Between the PIN code, passphrase option, and seed recovery phrase, you know your private keys are fully protected. I also like that Trezor regularly updates the firmware to patch any security risks. There are a few small downsides. The device isn’t cheap, and since it’s touchscreen-only, it can be a bit tricky to use with wet fingers. It also doesn’t have a built-in battery, so you need to connect it via USB-C each time you use it. But honestly, these are minor trade-offs for such a secure and advanced device. Overall, the Safe 5 is a fantastic hardware wallet. It combines modern design, strong security, and user-friendly controls in a compact package. If you take crypto security seriously and want a reliable, easy-to-use solution, I can highly recommend it.

I’m new to crypto and cold wallets and spent hours and hours on YouTube learning what they are and how to use them. I was attracted to this one due to its touchscreen and features. Getting it setup is super easy using the app on my laptop. I do have an iPhone but because of Apple’s restrictions for USB hardware devices, you have to use a PC for the setup. There is an iPhone app which is called Lite because it has less functionality than the PC. Don’t let that stop you because the normal use of a cold wallet is storage, not spending. A hot wallet (a phone app) would be the spending wallet. So I set up the Safe 5 easily and copied all my seed words. Then I transferred a small amount of crypto from Robinhood. I wanted to be familiar with what happens if I lose my wallet, or it fails or is damaged, so I did a factory reset. From there I followed the apps instructions for restoring my wallet, pretending my Safe 5 was a new wallet, and within 10 minutes, my wallet was fully restored. Super easy! I used to stack gold and silver and have sold it all for BTC. So much easier to handle BTC instead of physical metals. Now I don’t worry about someone breaking into my home, cracking open my safe and taking my wealth. Now when I travel anywhere, so long as I know my seed words, I am taking my wealth worldwide because I can recreate my wallet if I can get ahold of a new cold wallet. It doesn’t have to be the Safe 5 either. So long as I protect my seed words, I can’t lose my wealth, whether from me one day needing them and not having them or from someone finding my seed words and creating my wallet from them. With cold wallets, you aren’t protecting coins or the hardware wallet, you’re protecting the seed words.

Getting the Trezor Safe 5 was my first real step into keeping crypto safe, and I’ve got to say, it felt way easier than I expected. I was nervous about setup since I’m not super techy, but everything took about 20 minutes, just like they said. The instructions were super clear and walked me through each step without any confusing jargon. The packaging also felt premium—everything was neatly packed, which gave me confidence right out of the gate. It’s reassuring to know my crypto is now stored on a physical device instead of just online. One thing I really like is the secure element and the option to use a passphrase for extra protection. That gives me peace of mind knowing even if someone got their hands on the device, they wouldn’t be able to access my funds without the extra password. It’s not something I thought about before, but now I see how important it is. The build feels solid too—like it’s built to last. I can tell it’s made well, and it’s small enough to stash away safely without worrying about it breaking or getting damaged. The only downside for me is that it doesn’t connect wirelessly to my PC. I was hoping for that convenience, but after thinking about it, I get why it’s not included—less risk of hacking through wireless signals. I actually like that it forces me to stay more secure. I’m planning to keep this one completely offline as a backup, and maybe use a newer model for regular transactions. It’s not perfect, but for my first hardware wallet, the Trezor Safe 5 feels like a trustworthy start.

This little item is perfect to store my Crypto. I feel better knowing it's in my hands VS another institution. It was a bit confusing at first but I got through it and now, I'm better at understanding how to transfer my crypto to this device.

Two Trezors, the password keeper later and $500, I still don't have a functioning and secure Trezor wallet. The first wallet arrived, but I didn't open it until after the return period. When I did, surprise surprise, the tamper proof seal was dog earred and looked like it had been removed and reapplied. I didn't think to take a video and picture, which Trezor wanted. So that money's gone. But now I still have a $100 keep, so I order another. The second one arrives. I wish I had spent more time inspecting the other side of the so-called tamper proof seal. But as you can see it looks applied crooked. Then when I pulled it off, it didn't leave any "void marks" on most of the device as you can see in the video. If the so-called tamper proof seal isn't leaving the void marks to indicate the device was not tampered with, how is it tamper proof? Finally, who does their shrinkwrap? It looks like something that was done in basement, not part of a professional manufacturing process. But I guess that assumes the two wallets I received were not tampered with. Either way, the company's failure to deliver a single wallet with its own safety features intact means I'm out $500 and still don't have a functioning wallet. The second wallet, in this video, remains in some mysterious part of the return process with my refund tied up. (Update) After numerous complaints and calls I finally received a partial refund. Now, I'm only out $300.

I had the Model One and it was good, but this device is fantastic. A huge upgrade. Setup was a breeze, the software works perfectly and I really like this brand and company. I feel safe with having my crypto on a cold wallet. Thanks Trezor, you have a customer for life.
