This book completely healed me & absolutely wrecked me at the same time.💕✨ The writing was so poetic, whimsical, & soul-touching. Allison weaves magic with words.❄️ The lore was impeccable. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Magical, Bittersweet Return to Pixie Hollow

✨ Wings of Starlight by Allison Saft — ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ As a huge Tinker Bell and Disney fan, I knew I was going to be drawn to Wings of Starlight, but what surprised me most was how much I enjoyed the character growth and the story itself. Clarion's journey was one of my favorite parts of the book. She begins unsure of herself and questioning whether she has what it takes to become Queen, especially after being taught to suppress her emotions and follow the example set by the previous Queen, Elvina. But Clarion slowly learns to trust herself. Through determination, practice, and a willingness to take risks, she develops her magic and discovers what kind of queen she wants to become. I loved that she wasn't simply shaped into the ruler others expected her to be—she found her own path. I also really enjoyed Clarion and Milori's relationship. Their connection felt natural rather than forced or overly dramatic, and I liked how they encouraged each other to grow. Milori was protective and supportive of Clarion, while Clarion's courage and determination helped bring out growth in him as well. The supporting characters added a lot to the story for me, too. Artemis, Clarion's guard, was especially memorable because she chose to trust Clarion and help her even when it meant going against the Queen's instructions. And Petra, Clarion's anxious and somewhat chaotic best friend, was a character I unexpectedly connected with. Even though she wasn't the center of the story, I found her incredibly relatable. The world-building was magical and immersive, and the story moved at a natural pace. I never felt like the plot was overly forced or unnecessarily dramatic. I genuinely wanted to know what would happen and whether Clarion would discover her full potential before it was too late. One thing I found especially interesting was Elvina's role as Clarion's mentor. Her protectiveness came from a place of love, but I also felt that keeping Clarion sheltered and out of the loop contributed to Clarion's self-doubt and hindered some of her growth. I appreciated that the story allowed that relationship to have some nuance rather than making Elvina simply a “bad” mentor. And then there was the ending. 🥺 As someone who loves a happily-ever-after, I honestly expected one—especially because this is a Disney story. Instead, Clarion and Milori ultimately choose their responsibilities and their people, even though they are still in love. It was bittersweet, but I found it refreshing and felt that their decision showed just how much they had grown throughout the story. I'm 33, and while this definitely has a YA feel, I still found it incredibly enjoyable. More than anything, this book felt calming and comforting to me, and I loved getting to spend time in the magical world of Pixie Hollow again. If you're a Disney or fairy fan, especially a Tinker Bell fan, I definitely think this is one worth picking up. 🧚‍♀️✨
