Legendary British rock & roll band THE GODFATHERS explode into action in 2013 with the much-anticipated release of a brand new album JUKEBOX FURY their first full-length studio release since 95 - & a 23 date March UK tour with punk icons The Stranglers. Jukebox Fury was produced by The Godfathers & will be released on the band s own Godfathers Recordings label via Cargo Records on March 4th. Jukebox Fury will be preceded by the release of a download single entitled I Can t Sleep Tonight on Itunes on February 12th. The Godfathers, famed for their incendiary live shows & primal rock & roll numbers like I Want Everything , Birth School Work Death & Walking Talking Johnny Cash Blues , formed in 85 & released the classic albums Hit By Hit , Birth School Work Death , More Songs About Love And Hate & Unreal World . The London band reformed in 2008 to promote the critically acclaimed re-issue of their seminal debut album Hit By Hit with knock-out live shows around the world & celebrated their landmark 25th anniversary in 2010 with a live CD/DVD compilation called Shot Live At The 100 Club . The Godfathers influence has grown steadily in recent years with American stadium rockers Local H & Spoon releasing cover versions of Godfathers classics & The Mars Volta citing the band s trademark primal rock & roll sound as a major influence on their recently released Noctourniquet album. Review: They've still got it - Have loved them since purchasing Birth School Work Death back in 1988. That album was chock full of angry lyrics about what was going on back in 1988, and it's obvious listening to this that age hasn't withered them at all. Primitive Man in particular evokes the spirit of Wilko era Dr Feelgood, and the whole thing clocks in at just over 37 minutes. For those of you like me brought up on vinyl at about 20 mins a side max this "short, sharp no- filler" straight to the heart of the matter approach will be a welcome reminder of how music used to be. Nothing on this album will change the world but you'll have a blast listening to it. The Godfathers then-still raw, still pissed off-it's all good. If new to them Birth School Work Death is the place to start but they haven't released a duffer yet and Jukebox Fury doesn't let the side down. Review: Four Stars - Welcome return from The Godfathers with some great new songs. Catch them live if you can.

Old love never dies
I am sad Godfathers don't come on tour here, Norway wants them... But the album gave joy, fun and the go(o)d feeling ;-)

back to form!
Glad you're back Boys! Fantastic return to classic Godfathers form. Snarly lyrics (apart from when they get singing about affairs of the heart) combined with fundamental, well executed guitar, bass & drums; this sits alongside the original studio work from the 80s & 90s. This IS THE ANTIDOTE to soulless manufactured ITV prime-time abominations. do yourself a favour buy this and then buy tickets to watch them supporting the stranglers. (UK - March 2013) Particular favourite tracks include the previously released singles, "the outsider" & "Back to the Future". Top ranking must go to the blunt "Primitive Man" which reminds us of some inescapable facts about our origins. Also worthy of mention is "I can't sleep tonight" (out as a single now). The album roams from softer sounds, "Mary Baby" which could be out of 1960s San Francisco through to the aforementioned "Primitive Man" and takes all stops in-between. And there is the obligatory Morricone-influenced "Theme to the end of the world". Listen, enjoy, re-listen, keep enjoying. (repeat until...)

Jukebox Fury
A classic from The Godfathers. Not a bad track, and what a fantastic variety of songs, its a real grower and great guitar sound from the Godfathers. A hard and edgy Rock n Roll Album.

good
but not a classic album. was expecting more to be honest, entertaining but not as jaw dropping good as previous earlier releases

Still on for...
Fantastic album as good as anything they have done in the past. One of the best live bands about they certainly don't disappoint here.

Die GODFATHERS haben es immer noch drauf. Bis auf Titel 12 eine tolle CD. Was dieser Song soll, mag wissen wer will.
