So… with this perfume, I’m really quite disappointed. I had it once as a sample about two years ago, and it smelled incredible—deep, nuanced, and rich. I even remember others describing it the same way, “this smells rich”, which confirmed my first impression. The shirt I sprayed it on still smelled amazing days later.When I tried to buy a bottle back then, I couldn’t find it anywhere. I did see Secrets of Arnia, but it wasn’t Seno Arnia, so I kept checking from time to time. Thats how obsessed I was. About a week ago, I finally saw Seno Arnia on Amazon and bought it immediately.When I sprayed it… it wasn’t the same. The formula has changed.I own a few higher-end perfumes, so I understand the difference between quality and cheaper formulations. While this has strong projection, there’s no weight. It’s like a mirage—a big cloud that everyone smells, but once it settles, there’s almost nothing there. It reminds me of an overwhipped, overcooked meringue: it looks voluminous and appealing, but when you touch it, its very dusty and hollow.The original had more musk, layers and depth. This one smells cheap, thus the price. There’s a lot of predictable citrus, a little bit of powdery musk and an even smaller hint of floral. I’m not a fan of citrus-heavy perfumes—it’s an easy go to. It’s a cheap ingredient thats overused and overvalued. Citrus can be good, but here, it’s predictable and unoriginal.No matter how much I spray, it never gets strong. Just now, I drenched my shirt—around 15 sprays—and within minutes it smelled like I’d used one or two. This isn’t a perfume I want to savor. It comes off like a body spray than a true EDP, albeit a higher-end body spray.Im glad I bought it, though, because now I won’t obsess or wonder about it anymore. I wouldn’t be surprised if I get compliments simply because it’s so diffusive. It doesn’t give me awe, joy, or anything to linger with in moments of solitude.This is a grocery-store, Walmart shopping perfume. I don’t mean to hate—I’m just genuinely disappointed by how clearly different the formula is. A perfume’s formula is the brand. Changing it is like adding cranberries into a beloved chocolate chip cookie and insisting it’s the same recipe. Perfumery deserves to be treated and respected as the art it is, at any price point.
