Where does the cotton go? Thanks x** A: I have bought 2. One for myself and one for my husband. I had to re look on the internet for instructions. As far as I can see, you take the lid off the bottle, fill with essential oil of your choice. Upturn the bottle to make the cork stopper stick then replace and screw back together. Thanks** A: Dear Customer, Simply uscrew the wooden top of the Acorn essential oil diffuser. Fill the empty glass half way with your desired oils then pop on the wooden stopper and gently move the oils around so that the oil infuses itself in the wood. Let the fragrance disperse into your car or wardrobe. If at any time the scent weaken, you can also add cotton if you wish. This can make the scent stronger. However, our Acorn essential oil diffuser does not contain any cotton. So sorry for the miscommunication. I bought it in January and enjoyed it for several months. However, one day I opened the car to find that the bottom half which holds the glass bottle had fallen off and spilled its contents into the interior of my car. On examining it, I saw that the metal screw ring had come apart from the wooden top. It appeared to have been simply wedged in, as I couldn’t see any glue.I cleaned up the mess and wedged the ring back in again, this time with some strong glue to hold it. It lasted a few more months before the same thing happened again. I have tried another brand of glue, and had another failure.I can only surmise that the wood and metal expand and contract at different rates as the temperature inside the car fluctuates, and that eventually any glue will fail. It’s a shame as this is a very attractive design, and I really wanted this to work for my car.
