Excellent mid-layer pants
They're fleece pants with mesh pockets (less bulky) and no fly (acceptable to wear around outside your bedroom). Fit: I'm a slender 5' 9", 140 lbs and wear a medium-regular. They fit somewhat snugly and stretched a bit with break-in. It's a good fit for wearing over a wicking base layer and under ski or soft shell pants. They add quite a bit of warmth and wick moisture well. I've found all my Helly Hansen items to be well made. They do tend to fit the more slender, European body type better, I think.

Really skinny legs.
I bought the pants based on waist size. Modern athletic fit must mean thin runner body type not for muscular downhill skier legs. The pants were tighter than my base layer pants through the leg. Returned and received less than 50% of my money back. Probably a mistake, but not easy to rectified with Amazon.

Buen pantalón errores en alla
Excelentes materiales, buen corte, solo pide una talla mas de lo habitual el coete es slim fit y queda demasiado apretado.

Tested out whilst approx 217 miles above the arctic circle and they passed with flying colours.
I could not fault these fleece trousers having tested them out over in Tromso which is in Norway for a short break in December 2025. Tromso is about 350 kilometres (217 miles) north of the Arctic Circle in northern Norway, so where else is better to test them out ;-) I wore these underneath my ski trousers (Albeit I'm disabled and not able to ski), however they did keep me warm. I did initially have the HH fleece trousers on, with a pair of jogging bottoms on, then my ski trousers, and I was sweltering on the first day out. I was that hot, that I nipped back to the hire car to take off my joggers. So if you are after a really quality pair of under-warmers, then I definitely recommend that you purchase these. And if you would like a nice place to go and see the Northern Lights with snowy surroundings, then I HIGHLY recommend visiting TROMSO. It's probably easier to fly to than you may think from within the UK. EasyJet from Bristol direct to Tromso was our way of travel, made even better by seeing, and taking photos of the Northern lights whilst still flying in the sky.
