Very impressed with the quality of this block. Feels solid and great when working a blade. Highly recommend this for anyone starting out or already a pro. I think everyone interested in sharpening should get one of these.

Great value set
I have to say, out of all the stones I have used this one has to be my favorite. They are quite durable, come in a high-quality case that accounts for comfort, and will cut fast. An experienced sharpener will be able to get a working edge in under 2 minutes. A beginner in 5-10 with proper technique.

Works good
This strop works really good. I never knew how much leather would sharpen a knife until I tried this. As soon as your knife starts to feel dull use this and after a few strokes it will be as sharp as new. It beats using stones for not so sharp knives. If your knife is really dull this may not work better than a stone would.

Nicely done.
Well made product that saved me from having to make one. Amazing for between sharpening, or finishing off a new edge. Decent value for the money.

RIP OFF
Don't bother buying this, no better than other sharpeners and they didn't send the stropping block offered in the description.

Diamond plate has issues
I bought the Sharpal to use the coarse side to flatten my polishing stones. I put the coarse side and worked the plate against my stone and started to flatten my Shapton 16K. The corners gouged deep grooves into my Shapton. The corners of the Sharpal plate and both edges were raised. I had to use a bench grinder to chamfer the edges and remove about a quarter of an inch from the corners. After that, the Sharpal was excellent. The steel place is soft steel. Don't drop the plate. It will deform. It was and is disappointing.
