Great art journal!
I had absolutely no doubt this paper would do very well with markers and other dry media. The paper feels really really close to the usual smooth Bristol paper. It is really heavy & thick, but not textured. My main curiosity was how it would do with watercolor. Naturally it behaves nothing like watercolor paper, the paint doesn't bloom, spread or blend, but instead seems to get absorbed straight into the paper wherever it touches down. That said, my watercolor doodles still look pretty fantastic when dried, and the paper withstood 3 or 4 washes and even getting blasted with my heat tool to speed up drying. I even used masking fluid for some little dots and swirls around the coffee and it came right off without damaging the paper. It could probably take more washes but advanced techniques like wet in wet definitely won't work on this paper. The thickness of the paper is visible when you hold it up to a light. It's true that the cover is easily stained but it doesn't bother me one bit considering the beating this paper can handle. For the price it's listed at on Amazon, I will buy this journal over and over again. Can't wait to fill this thing up!

Fantastic Sketchbook
I drew in this sketchbook every day for two months. It was wonderful to work in. I have some pros and cons after working in it for a while I'd like to share with others: Pros -Tough. I dropped this book multiple times and used it daily. No pages fell or ripped out. It looks like new. -Truly Bleed Proof. I used Copics, Eno Mechanical Pencils, Posca Pens, Sharpies, Copic Multiliners, Micron Pens, Uni-ball gel pens, Gelly Roll Pens, Sakura Metallic Pens, etc. and nothing bled through. -Great Deal. You can draw 96 drawings in this if you utilize both sides of the paper. I think it's a great deal for the price. Cons - Paper is a very lightly tinted gray color. - Watercolor is terrible on this paper. I didn't even use much water. I used a water brush pen. The water was eating up the paper. It didn't go through but definitely made a top layer too textured for me to continue with the painting. I tried it twice and both times this happened. -Sketchbook does not lay flat. Ever. It wasn't a big deal for me but it may be for some individuals. Overall, I loved this little sketchbook. I just bought another for my birthday. I can't wait to use it!

I love this sketchbook
I love this sketchbook. I use Copic markers and I have a very hard time with the markers going through pretty much any paper I use. Bristol I have found does pretty good with very little bleed through to other pages. This paper on the other hand is wonderful. Nothing comes through on the other side. You can use both sides of the paper so it maximizes how much of the book you can use. The book has 48 pages but since you can use front and back you end up with 96 pages. I think the only drawback that I have found is that I wish the book would lay a little flatter, not so that I can draw larger images on two pages, but while I am drawing I wouldn't feel like I was holding the book open. With that said I still really love this book and would order it again, because the hardbound books are durable and nice to carry in my bag. I will also try the lay flat sketchbook in the future.

NO bleedthrough
This sketchbook is super great if you want to use inks or makers that usually bleed through the pages! I've covered a couple pages in copic ink and none of it had bled through or was even visible on the other side! I think it'd be great for professional art, but I have no experience with how it reacts to anything other than ink and copics. That being said, I found my copics to dry alarmingly quickly while drawing in this! It might be that the copics are at fault, or my expectations for them, but reguardless i was having to refill them every 3-10 pages..! Mind you, this was while i was using only 6 grayscale markers, but be aware if you can't afford refills. Additionally, despite me bringing it about everywhere and carelessly having it jostled around in my bag, it's remained very durable and the spine and covers are still in perfect condition. This is, for sure, a well made sketchbook! Overall, a great sketchbook, and one I found pleasing to draw in. Even though they dry quickly, the copics were easy to use in it and looked great on the paper. I would deffo recommend this sketchbook to anyone wanting to make a gorgeous book of art!

This sketchbook is great if you use a lot of markers & media ...
This sketchbook is great if you use a lot of markers & media that typically bleed through paper. I use Copic markers & even after building up many layers the back of the page is pristine. The only thing to keep in mind is that the page spreads your ink a bit, so the lines aren't as crisp as they would be on a less absorbant paper. The functions of watercolor are also a lot different on this paper, it's less fluid. But to me it's just a matter of changing up my technique of application a bit. The other issue I have with the sketchbook is that the pages do not open all the way & lay flat. Other than that, the book definitely does what it claims to do & I still quite like it! (I'd rate it closer to 4.5/5 stars)

Perfect for any artist!
I was blown away when I used this sketchbook for the first time. The pages are thick enough that you can use markers on both sides without any bleed through. Even if you go over the same spot several times, it won't bleed through to the other side. This maximizes use as you can fill the sketchbook literally front to back. I've just about filled my first one and I've already received my second so that I'm prepared when the time comes! Also the compact size allows me to throw it in my purse for on the go sketching! I couldn't be more please with this book and it is a must have for any artist, especially if you love pens and markers!

Works with Everything!
As a fine arts student I was searching for a sketchbook that's paper would be thick enough to handle heavy, layered paints and I have fallen in love with this sketchbook! It handles anything you throw at it; Acrylic, Gouache, Oil, Sharpie, Ink. I've be so satisfied by the work I've produced, and the small size lends itself to travel and fit in my purse. Note: There was an accident in which a family member spilled a water bottle on this sketchbook. I dried the pages individually and while no pieces were warped or harmed, there is slight to heavy water staining on some pages. However I don't blame the sketchbook for that, and I will still buy Rendr's in the future. (I've attached two pieces I completed in the sketchbook)

Does not bleed through with copics!
Love this sketchbook for copic markers! It does not bleed through!! They go on a little dark but then dry to their true color. Will continue to buy this as a copic sketchbook. Love the size 8.5” x 5.5” (hardcover is nice too) it’s like working in a moleskine but nicer because you can use marker. It’s a touch larger than the 8.5 x 5.5 moleskine actually. Only thing missing is the elastic band closure but I suppose I can live without it. Overall 5 stars. You won’t be disappointed.

Perfect sketchbook for me!
This sketchbook is exactly as advertised! It's ever so slightly grey tinted (which I love) and I tested it with multiple layers with my markers and not a thing shows up on the other side! Plus, it can handle enough ink to create flawless blends! However, it doesn't stay open and you have to hold it flat, and with markers, it will feather out a little. Despite that, this was exactly what I was looking for and it's worth the money I spent.

Exactly as advertised
Works exactly as advertised! I was skeptical after a bad experience with a Copic Notebook that made all the same promises but this book is Amazing!
