Easy to Operate. Great For pH and ORP/H2 Water Testing.
Although this device can also be used to test ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) /H2 (Hydrogen), I focused on testing the pH level of my pool.**Unless you already have experience with a device like this I highly recommend reading the instructions completely. It's not a big booklet and it's well-written. **In the first picture are the contents of the box. There are four packets of powder with different pH levels. KEEP THEM. They are for calibrating (or re-calibrating) the tester if needed at a later time.Having said that, the instructions state that the tester is factory-calibrated.The next pictures show the top (with cap unscrewed) showing the battery compartment. (Batteries are already installed). The picture of the bottom shows the electrodes / probe that go into the water. Note: there is a GLASS bulb and you need to use care when placing the probe into the water.Do NOT let the water go above the blue ring. (Which actually unscrews so you can replace the probe if needed).I turned the device on and then pressed the "Mode/Cal" button in order to select pH. (There are other options, as well).I filled a measuring cup with pool water and lowered the probe into it, being careful not to let water reach the blue ring. Sorry for the shadows and reflection of my phone. But you can easily see that there is a pH reading of 7.62, which is within proper range to help prevent algae growth and promote comfort. After doing the test, I rinsed the probe section with distilled water and placed it on the counter (leaving the cap off) to dry. The instructions are clear on this step: you need to carefully rinse the probe components after each use to maintain accurate readings. This is a great little product and I'm glad I have it!

Initial Success but Inconsistent Readings
I've been using this in my pool, and it worked well for the first two weeks. However, now the pH levels always read about 9. I have a Taylor 2006 pool kit, and the results from this device are not accurate in comparison. I also use a similar device that checks pH and salt levels, which has been accurate. I'm going to try recalibrating the device again and will report the results.Pros:- Easy to use- Save money on buying test strips- I've had this a short time, but the battery hasn't died within a month time.Cons:- Takes about 30 to 45 seconds to show the final result.- Requires recalibration within two weeks of receiving it or may not work properly

Great little unit for the price, fun to play scientist at home
The media could not be loaded. I wanted a pH meter for home to help introduce science concepts to my kid and for the occasional measurement of something related to plants. We have basic soil and have been adding amendments to raise the pH so nutrients are available. I wanted to measure the progress along the way by adding distilled water to soil samples. Being a little naive, I was first shocked that readings of distilled water didn't jump to pH 7. With a little reading, I figured out that distilled water has no ions. So while it's technically pH 7, the meter needs ions to get a reading. So in ionically weak solutions the readings can vary. I used the calibration pouches, and the factory settings were very close (within 0.1 to 0.2 units). Having done that little proof for my own confidence, I'm really happy with the results I'm getting, and I just might be measuring things from the fridge and cabinets for fun. Remember to rinse your pH meter with distilled water after use to avoid damaging the probes. The glass bead is apparently for the thermometer, so make sure to not smack it too hard.

Works accurately!
I recently bought a hydrogen bottle but had not tested the hydrogen level yet.Tried this PH meter. Not sure if it was accurate because I had no other meter to verify the readings. This meter measure the PH of the provided samples accurately, so I assume the hydrogen readings are also accurate.Well constructed and requires 3 button cells (which it comes with). Will continue to test with other samples.I highly recommend it.

It works well, need to clean head with distilled water frequently
I have a hydrogen water bottle and used this to measure the ppm / ppb of hydrogen in the water. In addition, I compared the pH reading to litmus paper. Hydrogen data was read easily as was pH. I found that the meter had to be rinsed in distilled water between pH readings to get a better reading. Since easy to verify distilled water at 7.0 pH.I do not know about mV reading at all and cannot critique it. Overall this meter performs well. It included calibration instructions and calibration packets (mix packet with distilled water per instructions) to calibrate meter periodically.I had to look up on internet safe pH range for my tap water and also for expected hydrogen levels (ppb). Meter is not necessary for common person but is useful for technical inclined people.

Accurate and dependable
I don’t necessarily need a pH meter that is accurate to 0.01, but this meter does that. I test my pool water regularly with test strips, but this meter is much easier and more precise. It’s easy to use, just make sure you read the instructions in the event you need to recalibrate it. Make sure it is rinsed and dried before putting away.

The H2 function did not work!
The H2 function in ppb / ppm did not work. Returning and would not buy again.

works in some ways
Once I got it calibrated, the pH function seemed to work consistently and fairly accurately, which is the function I needed. However, it was wildly off before calibration. The other functions give measurements that can change drastically with the same sample over multiple tests. Some results line up with other meters, but the outliers can be off by as much as 100-300 ppm. Overall, it's decent for pH measurement after calibration, but the other functions are unreliable in my experience.
