Gripping and entertaining game
Excellent game - over 16 age group suggests little more taxing than lower ages groups. Lots to do, lots to work out, a thoroughly enjoyable adventure game. Little dark undertones of murder and mystery but the good always wins the day. One of the best I have seen for a while. Took me more time to do than usual, did'nt really want to complete it as would have to buy another. I would recommend this to serious adventure gamers.

A very enjoyable well constructed game that city interactive have once again produced. I love this style of gaming it was great fun to play, good graphics and some challenging puzzles with a catchy story line. Excellent value for money.

If this better than the first game, what was the first game like???
This game was such a disappointment. The premise was rather interesting but that's as far as the positive goes. Despite a seemingly solid storyline (secret society, assassins etc) the game itself lacked any sense of drama, urgency or emotion. The voice acting was absolutely dreadful. The game opens with a meeting between mysterious cloaked and carnival-masked strangers in Venice- could be exciting except they all had a broad American accent which was totally out of place with the setting and the characters themselves. The main protagonist herself was annoying. But the worst part was the very beginning- there were two characters who were described as having grown up together in a small French village. This was actually emphasised in the story. Only problem is that one of them sounded American, the other French. This might seem minor but considering the slow pace and the bland atmosphere of the game it was the kind of thing I noticed. In the same way whenever I tried to unsuccessfully combine items in the inventory , the character kept coming up with the same really annoying comments over and over again. As for the story itself after a reasonably good start- a secret society and the disappearance of the Marie Celeste- the whole thing collapsed into absurdity. The locations and graphics were very basic and didn't add much to the game itself. As for the inventory-based gameplay, there were maybe a couple of puzzles that were relatively fun. There was also a glaring miscaculation at the end that wasn't addressed at all and left unresolved, but by that stage I was so fed up with the whole thing that I didn't care anymore. All in all the game left me frustrated and annoyed. I love 3rd person point and click and was really looking forward to playing it- as it was I felt the game was lazy and felt recycled. I finished it because I thought I might as well see it through but did feel like it was a total waste of time. At least it was short!
