Works fine. More glossy than I would have liked, but was able to coat with true matte finish. Dries quickly and without runs. Longevity is yet to be determined. I use this to coat cleaned and glued skulls of animals for display. The coating helps to seal in residual moisture to keep teeth and bones from cracking, while blocking any lingering odors. Made in the UAE. Had I know that...would not have bought.

A good alternative to water based polyurethane because you can skip the spray gun clean-up. About the same cost, $20 for the spray cans vs $35 for a quart can of poly with half the can leftover. I used it as finish coat on a rubber wood bench. First time I've used that species of wood and I got an equivalent finish to the oak, pine or fir projects I finished with poly. I'll probably use this product again.

I'm a Woodworker and have tried many finishes. This is Great Lacquer at a very resonable price! I had never used the brand, but will going forward!!

To preface this review, let me explain that I have 15+ years working with nitrocellulose and pre-catalyzed lacquer finishes in spray cans and with HVLP spray systems. Typically I use Mohawk lacquers when finishing important projects and Minwax lacquers when I need something faster and/or slightly cheaper. With everything getting more expensive, I thought I would give this stuff a shot. What a mistake. First off, I ordered a 6-pack of “Flawless” Lacquer (it’s anything but flawless) in a Satin sheen. While the label on the cans indicated Satin, it’s actually somewhere between a semi-gloss and high gloss, closer to the latter. So they couldn’t even get the sheen correct. I thought, OK, no problem, I’ll just sand it down with 1000 grit and rub it with some 0000 steel wool and wool lube to knock down the shine. Well I can’t even do that because even after 3 days in a 74 degree F environment, the finish is soft - not tacky, just soft (for reference, this was applied in 4 thin coats sprayed over the course of 2 days over 2 thin coats of Mohawk EZ Vinyl Sealer, a finish regimen I’ve used successfully countless times with better products). So I’m essentially going to have to sand this piece down to bare wood and start over. Best part, for I suppose obvious reasons this item is non-returnable, leaving me with 5-1/2 cans of useless garbage. If you’re fine with the absolute wrong sheen of finish that doesn’t even dry hard, look no further. But if you want what a finish that is what it says it is, look elsewhere (Mohawk if you can afford it).

This laquer is very easy to use. I bought 2 cans and used it to laquer an oak bannister rail. I sprayed it onto the bare wood and it covered really well. I gave it 4 coats, but one of the cans was faulty and I couldn't get it to stop spraying so wasted nearly half a can. The bannister looked great when I'd finished, although the satin finish was more of a gloss. Although it dried quickly (touch dry in about 30 mins) it seems to take a long time for the laquer to harden. I had to leave the rail for 2 days before I could handle it without leaving finger marks in the laquer. In future I'll leave it longer between coats and see if that helps.

Fit for purpose

I bought the statin finish, but after application and drying the woodwork looks quite glossy. Otherwise no complaints.

Lacquer highlighted bricks perfectly. Would recommend to anyone who wants an exposed fireplace.
