Culturally and Linguistically Responsive Teaching and Learning – Classroom Practices for Student Success, Grades K-12 (2nd Edition)

This was required reading for a class I took, so I had to buy it. I read the entire book, cover to cover, in one day, and found myself wanting to read more after completing each chapter. I feel like these books are usually geared toward elementary school teachers, but as a secondary teacher, I learned plenty of approaches and strategies to improve my skills in the classroom. It was worth my money and worth the read.

I really enjoyed this book, as it provided excellent tips for incorporating student culture into the classroom.

I had to purchase this book as part of my teaching certification program; however, I plan to read more of it as I become a full-fledged teacher because it has so much useful information in it. I think the strategies and resources outlined by Hollie are fantastic, and I look forward to using this book as a handbook for CRT. I highly recommend it if you’re looking to learn more about CRT.
