Easy to use and works very well!
So far it’s a big hit! A friend, 79, kept having trouble hearing people on the phone. She has hearing aids. This has been going on for at least five years. On a whim I ordered these phones! My friend enjoys blocking numbers, and her old Panasonic cordless phone set only blocked 250 numbers. New ones block 1000! (mine blocks 1400!) My friend hears voices on her new phones without even engaging the Boost button. It’s louder than a normal phone. Flashlight handy, too. My friend needs two more handsets (can have six). I ordered another set of three, and the extra handset and base station I will give to another friend who is having issues with not hearing well. So far, a great phone set!

Nice Phone for Money, but Not Necessarily for Seniors
I was impressed with this phone on unpacking, and liked the compact handset and functionality. I had purchased it for my mother who has dementia and is hearing impaired. She had been trying out one of the picture phones, but the sound was totally deficient considering these are made for the elderly (check this feature out carefully if you are buying one). I thought this Panasonic phone would be simple enough to use and provide the decibel level we were missing with the picture phone. The interesting thing I learned in trying to teach her how to use this phone is that we basically need to relearn how to use a cordless landline phone, as many of us haven’t used one in over 20 years now. Most elderly innately understand the original corded handset that you hold to your ear and replace in the base to disconnect. Where the cordless landline is more similar to a cell phone (which my mom had been using for the past 15 years or so), there are some key differences that are critical to the proper usage of this phone. Primarily, the phone line must be disconnected at the end of the call. That requires the user to tap the OFF button or replace the handset in the base. One party can disconnect a call on a cell phone, a landline requires both to disconnect. This can be dangerous for seniors who fail to end the call properly, and leave the line open. You can’t text them and tell them it’s off the hook either! Secondly, placing a call requires two steps as opposed to one. Even the “Favorites” button (which ideally would be labeled) covers ALL “favorites”, so requires multiple button presses to reach the desired party. I was the only Favorite designated on my mom’s phone, but it still required two taps to make the connection. As an aside, even though I advised my mom that there were essentially only three buttons she needed to know, the busy display and sheer number of buttons and labels was likely overwhelming to her. Our tests with the Boost feature didn’t seem to be too successful, as the only step we took that made the calls clear enough for her was using the speaker phone. I personally would have labeled the speaker phone “Speaker” rather than “Sp Phone”, as I think the former is more recognizable terminology. I also think the speaker should be a major button, not a minor one in terms of size as it is so commonly used. Likewise, I think “END” would be clearer than “OFF”, but these are just my opinions. Because I did not get to utilize many of the other features, I withheld a star from my rating, but that does not indicate any disappointment with the phone’s performance. If I had a landline, I would love this phone and even debated keeping it for myself. I think it is well-designed and while not necessarily configured intuitively, it still packs a lot of functionality into one compact phone. The ability to purchase it with multiple handsets is a big plus. In summary, my only issue with the phone was its potential unsuitability for a senior, particularly one with hearing or cognitive impairment. Otherwise, it’s a good phone for the money. Footnote - Panasonic gets extra points for including a diagram on the top flap of the outer box on how to repack the phone. This packaging was an engineering feat on its own, and repacking it in the same configuration would have been impossible without the diagram!

Great Value & Quality
This phone exceeded our expectations. we have had panasonic phone for years and we get good use from them. We needed something for my mother who is 88 and really hard of hearing and these met our needs. when i showed her the sound boost button it was even a bit loud in her ear, so i know as her hearing gets worse this phone will still make it possible for her to have a conversation on the phone without it needing to be text or TTY. The display screen is significantly bigger and really easy to read. The flashing light on the top that doubles as a flashlight is nice making it easy to see that the phone is ringing. The larger buttons are so much easier for her to use with her arthritic hands. This is really a fantastic phone. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is caring for the elderly or that has arthritis in their hands or is hearing impaired.

Call Block Not Blocking
Purchased this phone about a year ago for my elderly mother. It seemed to have fairly good reviews and I have used Panasonic phones before, so I was hopeful. The large display and big buttons are a plus and the ease of use was helpful, however one of the major features for me was the call block. My mom gets lots of scam calls, so we were hopeful this phone was the answer. It was not. The phone allowed us to put numbers to block on the list but never actually blocked the calls. The calls still come through, the phone rings and my mother then has to deal with the scam caller again and again. I initially thought, maybe I misread about this feature when I purchased the phone.. maybe it only indicates for you it is a blocked number. I don't live close to my mom, so I did not have an opportunity to really investigate this and get Panasonic on the line until today. I was told that the call block feature should block the number and that the phone probably needs repair. But, because it is outside the 1yr window, the repair bill would be on me... smh.. I explained the phone never worked but I guess I am out of luck here... So much for Panasonic being a reliable go to for my phones in the future. smh

Panasonic Cordless Phone Set
Looks nice. Lots of useful features. I needed to upgrade my home phone from wired to wireless and this is the perfect set to do that. Easy to use. sound is great and reception is excellent. The volume is easy to adjust, even while talking. Very satisfied with this purchase and the price was good, too. Received very quickly.

undependable
I don't recommend this product at all. The phone disconnects from the base for no apparent reason making it unusable to answer. Anyone who depends on phone service for medical reasons should avoid this one.. One of the cordless phones off will separate for the base and on does not answer an incoming call. Sometimes I have been lucky and another click on the key will allow the caller to connect, but very confused as to what just happened because of the delay. There are other problems as well, the flashing lights don't flash or sometimes flash but with no ring. All three phones don't ring for incoming calls at the same time.. It even has blocked callers. Having this phone is risking my life if I ever had to depend on it for an emergency. I know this is a harsh review but trying to manage from the instruction booklet is useful. "Easy to use with large display and big buttons" was a reason to buy it . My experience is that things that don't worth are useless and in my case could also be a safety risk for me and my family.

3 is better than 2
Had to return a previous order (2 handset) and re ordered this instead. Luckily all 3 handsets can be charged normally. Currently still monitoring if workmanship is reliable but having 3 handsets is still better than 2.
