Such voltage regulators have adjustable voltage output.
They are made for a broad range of generator sizes so the odds are good that you will have to turn the tiny brass screw on the inside until you get the desired voltage. I might recommend an idling voltage output of ~122 volts. My genset repair guy thought my Onan 3500 put out 3500 watts for some strange reason. It is a 2500 watt system. So I had to crank his replacement voltage regulator from 103 volts to what I wanted - 123 volts.

Did not work.
This AVR did not work on my generator. The volts were way too high and no matter how you turned the brass screw, they stayed way over 300 volts. That will damage anything connected to it. The color of the wires to the plug were different than on the original AVR. I don't know if that makes a difference or not. The original had 2 blue wires and one white and one green wire. In addition, it did not fit properly with one end of it that would not seat in the mounting area.
