I was impressed with how easy this was to install and set up. The instructions were clear and walked me through everything without any confusion. The app is one of my favorite parts. The interface is intuitive and easy to navigate, and I love being able to lock or unlock my door from anywhere. It has some nice extra features too, like the ability to put the lock in silent mode. The keypad buttons are easy to press and feel much better than some other smart locks I’ve used. The fingerprint reader works quickly and consistently, which makes getting into the house much easier. The only minor downside I’ve noticed is that the actual locking and unlocking mechanism is a little slow. There’s a short wait while the deadbolt moves, but it hasn’t been enough of an issue for me to take away a star. Overall, I’m very happy with this lock. It’s easy to use, the app is well designed, and all of the different ways to unlock the door work well. Definitely a five-star purchase for me.

This lock looks nice and offers a variety of ways to access. Installation was somewhat easy, had a little glitch with initial installation and the lock wouldn’t fully unlock. This was total operator(installer) error I figured out I needed to drill a little more so that the deadbolt could move through easily. It was deceiving because the initial locking and unlocking that happens when you put in the batteries went smoothly. I was also able to unlock with the key and by turning the thumb turn. I appreciate the ability to use the app as well.

1 Star Week after the return window closed lock started disconnecting from WiFi randomly. We already had to reset it several times. The only way to fix it is to reinstall it again and again while losing fingerprint and door code. Super annoying. Expected much better quality from Philips. We have to get a new lock ASAP since we are now used to not lock the door and carry the door key around. Waste of money. 5 Stars for the seller - Update - Seller contacted me after reading the review and offered choice of getting a new product or full refund. I chose the refund option which was processed by the seller promptly. Very satisfied with the response.

We just purchased and installed this lock (Oct 2025), it has a sticker inside the battery compartment cover listing the model as model DDL240X-1HB. It took us several hours to install, mainly due to the fact that the unit we were sent did not match the instruction booklet sent with it. It appeared to be a brand new, unopened box, just the unit itself is a slightly different model. There were differences, including the orientation and appearance of the wire plug inside the unit and the absence of the slide latches on the housing for the side of the lock that is indoors. The main differences we discovered were: 1. mounting plate for the inside half was not the same as in the videos / included paper instructions 2. The cable fastens to the side instead of "up", the red markings have to face up, and you have to find a way to really shove / snug it in place. This took a few tries as we initially put it in upside down, then reoriented it and then had to disassemble everything again to push it further into place as apparently it wasn't snug. There was no "snap in place" or definitive way of identifying the correct orientation for the plug. 3. no "slides" to fasten the inside half of the housing to the mounting plate. Instead, you have to remove the plastic plate that is around the manual handle for locking / unlocking the unit to expose holes for lower screws. This was not in the included instructions and required prying the plate off of the lower part of the inside half of the unit. Installation was extremely frustrating due to the mismatch between the unit and included instructions. The model number is not unique, but if you continue to be persistent on the Philips website, you can find a video that matches this design (no slides) partially, but doesn't capture the difference in the cable connector (nor does it show you prying off the plate - the plate just wasn't shown in the video). If I hadn't found that video, I would have returned the item because I couldn't figure out how to attach it. Once we got through that and used the app to set it up, everything was awesome. The app is very user friendly, setting up the codes / fingerprints is very easy. Hopefully it will last longer than the Utec lock it is replacing.

I bought this safety lock after I had a stalker show up at my door 17 years after middle school looking for me and I hadn’t even had a conversation with them back in middle school. Anyways, this lock really is a game changer! The whole family has access to the app and can apply their finger prints with ease. Very slick sleek design and looks great on my front door. Super easy set up, especially with the app connectivity. I really like how it notifies me to each time somebody unlocks the door how it was unlocked and by who and it actually has a log of it with times. I highly recommend this product. It also has a feature with auto lock feature which you can change to various times that fit your lifestyle.

This lock deserves 5 stars if an update can improve its Wi-Fi connection. It worked fine for 3 weeks, but when my router had its firmware updated, the lock refused to connect to WIFI. Removing batteries from the lock and restarting the router didn't help. I had to temporarily change the network name and then change it back to get the lock to connect to Wi-Fi. Makes no sense why it didn't work initially. This is not the newest model but the new model only comes in black. Philips customer service was slow to respond to the initial request, but once they did, they were great and sent me a replacement.

So easy to set up. So easy to program and link to the app on my phone I saw that others had reported problems, but I don’t know how that happened. It was so easy for me.

Nice quality lock that fit perfectly in a standard size door opening. Very easy installation and set up through the App. originally I had a couple questions about the App and IsaBella in customer service was very helpful and got me going. Great job! Overall I am very pleased with the cost and quality of this good looking lock.
