Absolutely perfect. As expected it does kill all types of flies and flying insects. My house all of a sudden became infested with loads of fruit flies, like one day they had come from absolutely nowhere. I bought this device because my house became deluged with 100’s of them, I didn’t know how until I noticed a few days later that one of my kids had put some potatoes I got from the supermarket about a month ago in the wrong kitchen cupboard, a cupboard that we don’t really use and the potatoes went bad and that’s where all of these fruit flies came from. When I got this product delivered and turned it on, it took about two days in total for about 90% of these fruit flies to be killed by this product and a few more days for them all to be killed and gone.The fruit flies were all attracted to the UV lights as expected and were all instantly killed. Mosquitoes love me.I hate them.They track me down through open doors and windows to kiss (bite) me.But it's their wounds that I really hate: a raised bump and itching for around five days.I chose this product to be their doorway nemesis.Very bright at night without a main room light.Ideally wear sunglasses near it or mount it well away from you.Insect attraction and death is indiscriminate of course, yet over half of the victims have been mosquitoes.It's highly effective, lightweight to move and mount, and issues a nice high-voltage crack as each mosquito is exterminated.

I had a small plague of annoying house flies in my kitchen. After plugging in this device, it certainly did not cause them to instantly fly straight into it. However, I noticed that over a period of time, they did eventually fly into this, as did mosquitos, a few moths, hundreds of tiny flies, perhaps fungus gnats from my pot plants and I noticed that although I had bunches of bananas on the kitchen side, I am no longer seeing any fruit flies. When a fly hits the electrified grill, a spark occurs and this makes an alarmingly loud crack sound. A few larger flies got stuck and the electricity kept flowing and sparking until they literally disintegrated with a burning smell. I reckon that this is more effective at night, as the light is brighter in comparison with the surroundings. A month later and the area around this and the bottom tray is covered in hundreds of little dead flies.

Robust.Kills fruit flies easily. As another review stated, large flies are definitely stunned/ incapacitated but don’t die straight away unfortunately.As warned elsewhere, it does make a large snapping sound when a fly flies into it, and larger flies can cause a small spark and burning smell.I was nervous about leaving it on overnight but so far I did and it didn’t get too hot.Tray is good but not all flies drop into the tray.

Only lasted 5 months

As I live out in the country we are often besieged by swarms of flies which flock to this fly killer like moths to a flame.While it is on it is killing and it is very effective at killing. Construction isn't exactly bomb proof but it is sturdy enough to last for many years.It is great value for money and there's no more satisfying sound than hearing a biting fly being burned to a crisp.Groovy.

Worked really well but has now completely died only 7 months old

Used it in my caravan to get rid of cluster flies which come in from the fields, worked very well at eliminating the flies.
