XenTari is a biological insecticide containing a natural, potent strain of the microorganism Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies aizawai (Bta) that controls caterpillar pest. Mix the micro-granules with water. Ideally 1 gram for 1 litre of water for 10 m² of boxwood surface. Thoroughly spray the upper and under sides of the leaves to make spraying effective. When a caterpillar eats the treated leaves, it ingests the "Cry" proteins from XenTari. The protein crystals are solubilized in the gut of the caterpillar and gut cells are irreparably damaged. Once this damage occurs, Bta spores enter through the gut wall and germinate rapidly in the body cavity causing blood poisoning. The larvae then die in 1-3 days. When a caterpillar eats the XenTari-treated leaves, its feeding stops within 1 hour. Although affected caterpillars die in a couple of days, the dammage to the boxwood stops after 1 hour. With its highly specific activity and natural origin, XenTari does not harm important beneficial insects such as bees for pollination, insect predators, and parasites used in control of other insect pests. XenTari is also not harmful to humans, wildlife or the environment. Preferably treat the plants if the temperature is above 15°C. Repeat the treatment after 1 to 2 weeks. XenTari can be used in combination with TOPBUXUS HEALTH-MIX. Before use carefully read the label and all instructions inside the packaging !

Fantastic Stuff!
These caterpillars had eaten their way through all 10 of my buxus within days and they were in very bad shape. Fortunately we read the reviews on here and ordered without hesitating and we have managed to save them. Spray with this stuff, one sachet to one litre of water and they stop eating within 1 hour. They are then dead within 3 days. So far so good, but we have ordered more and shall repeat in a couple of weeks. Thus far though even those coming out of their sacs are dying before they get going. I don't like using chemicals in the garden but here i had no choice. This product is however a bio product and kills only the caterpilllers, apparently it is not harmful to other animals

Halted destruction by box caterpillars almost immediately
London, End of July-Early AugustHaving never had any problems before we were unsure if we had an infestation in April/May. Noticed some very mild damage and webbing over our box shrubs but did not take any action as our plants seemed to recover. Following pruning in June it became apparent we had a second infestation which completely and rapidly decimated our shrubs. We purchased this product - TopBuxus XenTari to eradicate the caterpillars, which worked brilliantly. It seemed to stop the destruction almost immediately. Could find no caterpillars after 2-3 days. We then sprayed with TopBuxus Health-Mix in a bid to revive our shrubs. Still waiting to see the effects across the garden as those shrubs hit hardest are taking longer to recover. We then tackled the adult moths with this product – BUXaTrap Box Tree Moth Trap and in less than 24 hours after installing, we had around 30 moths captured. Have read that infestations come in waves and happen 2-3 times a year, so looking out for possible 3rd wave Sept-Oct. Following instructions on all the products, particularly the TopBuxus XenTari by spraying again in 2 weeks to ensure any new caterpillars are destroyed. Recommend this product for halting the process of destruction fast. Also recommend using the other products to break the caterpillar/ breeding life cycle.

Brilliant stuff. Our box plants were covered in these caterpillars and they had eaten most of the foliage. Within a couple of days of spraying liberally with this stuff the caterpillars were dead and new leaves are starting to form.

So far so good
So far so good. Easy to use , no odour and looks like it’s done the job, recommends another allocation after 2 weeks to mop up late comers. 10 sachets have done 8 stand alone box trees 3 foot high and a hedge 6 metres long 40 cm high

Definitely works
Sprayed it on two large box ballls that were covered in caterpillars yesterday. This morning the carrrpillars are dead. Shook the plants and they fell off. Amazing stuff. I did pretty thoroughly soak the plants which I’m sure helped. In short, this really works.

I have given this five stars because the hedge is definitely growing back. Only time will tell if it works and saves the hedge. Mine is pretty bad. I think if you use it as soon as you see something is wrong, you maybe able to clear it quickly. I am spraying it once a week.

It worked for mine!
It works! Bayer must be making a fortune as the box contained tiny sachets, but one spraying killed the lot of them.

Honestly, really good
It is supposed to be used for Boxus plants but I used it on my container plants (flowers, veggies and herbs) that were loaded with White Butterfly caterpillars and it has worked perfectly. It's a powder that comes in sachets and you mix with water, then spay it onto the plants. It says it's specific for caterpillars but I could swear that it has kill the sawfly maggots too, cause there is none of them now.Keep in mind though, that you have to keep reapplying it every one or two weeks because the butterflies can always come back.Overall, excellent product.
