We ordered these bags shortly before a 10 day back-country trip. My wife and I have extensive horse riding experience but no overnight camping experience. These bags were incredibly easy to figure out & use. During the "learning" process of riding with them we crashed into a number of trees until both us and our horse learned how to avoid that. The bags proved to be very durable. The bags rode well & held quite a large amount of stuff. We packed a 50lb compressed bail of hay into the 2 paniers, as well as 6 lbs of grain and a few other things. The small pockets on the rear held our horse first aid items. The top bag was large enough to hold literally everything else we needed to camp comfortably for a day. Tent, high line, sleeping bags / mattresses, clothes, hygiene, food, water, jet boils etc. etc. We ended up eliminating other bags from our riding horses because this bag was so useful.

We’ve been wanting to get these for a long time! One of our horses decided to throw a tantrum and destroy our last packing set (wish he had done it sooner)! This is so much simpler to work with and everything is enclosed. Love that we can haul everything up, unload and still have the saddle to go riding in. Plus when we get around to replacing our pack horse we can still use a sawbuck!

This product did not hold up. My husband loaded it on a horse empty in our arena and a strap broke. We took it in for local repair rather than sending it back because my “big kid” did not want to give up his new toy. We did not return it but I’m seriously concerned about the high dollar item longevity.

Purchased this for friends who are riding horseback in Europe for 5 months (google Journey Europe to learn more about them). The design of this saddle pack system uses a western saddle instead of a pack saddle, and has a unique rigging setup to allow you to pack each side pannier independently, and it also has a top pack for additional storage capacity. Looking forward to seeing how the saddle pack system performs for the Journey Europe cowgirls over the next 5 months!

Really nice quality, better design than the older version that you can buy without the top pack and liners. Smash'em into a tree, horse can try to roll on them, no problem.

An awesome pack saddle for the weeke nd warrior packer. Will hold up to tree abuse just fine. Tough enough pack for sure and well worth the price tag.

Excellent and well-constructed, heavy-duty to provide years of use. I purchased these for a problem horse training tool, along with a pack saddle. The system is easy to use and durable. Like how the bottom panniers come with heavy plastic box inserts.
