Protein powder is a tough buy. I've tried a ton of them over the years, and very few have lived up to the hype in their promotional info. Most are in the "okay" category, but I never bought twice. Some I've had to mix with something else to get past their idea of "delicious". I mean, do they even try their own product? Taste is only one part of the equation and, for me, only comes into play once the ingredients are right. OWYN passes the test. No sugar (they use monkfruit), two net carbs, 30g protein, the amino acids, and low saturated fat. Plus, with 27 servings at roughly the same price point as many competitors who offered about 20 servings, that prompted me to try it. I give this product five stars for the overall quality and taste, but I will say it is not the best tasting chocolate protein powder I've ever had. It's good, though I think there are a couple of brands that are slightly better but they have more sugar. So, it's a balance. I continue to buy OWYN because of all the reasons stated, and I also buy others. I like a little variety.

I’ve tried several protein powders over the years, and this OWYN Pro Elite Chocolate has honestly been one of the better tasting ones. The chocolate flavor is smooth and enjoyable without tasting overly artificial or overly sweet. Mixed with almond milk, it blends really well and makes a creamy shake that is easy to drink. One of the biggest positives for me is that it is not chalky and doesn’t leave that unpleasant aftertaste that many protein powders have. It also gives me a nice steady boost of energy and keeps me feeling full longer without feeling heavy. Pros: * Great chocolate flavor * Mixes very well with almond milk * Smooth texture * No chalky taste * No weird aftertaste * Gives good energy * High protein and plant based Keeps me feeling full for many hours Cons: * The scoop tends to be buried all the way at the bottom of the container, which is messy and annoying to dig out * The powder itself is very light and can “poof” into the air easily when scooping or pouring Overall, I would definitely buy this and have it on subscribe and save. The taste and texture alone make it stand out from many other protein powders, and the nutrition profile is excellent. Small packaging annoyances aside, it’s a really solid product.

I've tried quite a few pea protein powders out there. This is the brand I keep coming back to. It has great flavor, sets well on my stomach, blends very easily, doesn't have that terrible chalky mouthfeel a lot of pea proteins have, leaves me feeling full, and makes me feel good about using a product with minimal ingredients.

I buy it because of the protein and nutrition and because it doesn't have added sugar. It is not quite chocolaty enough for me but I buy a bag of unsweetened 100% cacao and add a scoop in to increase the chocolaty flavor.

Good price for this low sugar highly rated item. Not overly sweet, which is exactly what I needed.

Really like the flavor, but same time doesn’t taste like Nesquik chocolate milk. Don’t want to steer anyone wrong.

I've been using OWYN Pro Elite Vegan Protein (Dark Chocolate) consistently since December 2024 and have been very happy with it. The flavor is great, it mixes well, and I love that it’s plant-based with zero sugar. I've recommended it to several people and even shared some with a friend who’s into fitness—he was instantly hooked. However, the most recent batch I received (June 2025) had a noticeable change. Both containers had a strong yeast-like odor and the shake was much foamier than usual. I tested each one multiple times, and the result was consistent. I’m not a chemist, but it feels like there may have been too much probiotics added by accident. To Amazon’s credit, they issued a refund promptly, but I do think this particular batch should be tested or recalled. It’s clearly different from what I’ve received in the past. That said, I’m still a fan of OWYN and plan to continue using it once this batch cycles out. I just hope the company looks into this quality issue and ensures it was a one-time slip.

I wanted to leave a one-star because the taste is just that horrible to me. But that's not really fair because I know it's entirely subjective. It's just so bitter. I couldn't even finish the one beverage I made. I ended up throwing it away. I was really bummed because clearly it's a pretty high quality product for the price. I can't use whey protein anymore and I was hoping to find a good alternative. I hope others love the flavor. I just couldn't get past it.
