Sony is always a solid choice...
Excellent sound quality - even when you use the bass boost it does not overwhelm the mids and highs. It is easy to pair with two phones/DAPs/whatever at once. I love the minimalistic look of the speaker as well. It is not very heavy and is thus easy to move around. I am planning to buy another one and use them in tandem which I can imagine will be incredible from a sound experience standpoint. I dont think they get as loud as JBL speakers this size but I will take that L for the superior sound quality. I have used this outdoors (not in any extreme weather conditions but normal sunny to cloudy cold days) and havent had any issues thus far.

One of the best Bluetooth speakers on the market.
I love my Sony ULT Field 7 Wireless Bluetooth. On its ULT2 setting, it pumps out the sound!! You want bass? This speaker system has it with more power to spare. When I first got it and tried it, my grandkids could hear it *clearly* over 150 yards away. As loud as I had it turned up (about 2/3 volume) there was no distortion. It’s unbelievable. The only downside I can see with this system is its size (a little over 20” long) and its weight (14 lbs.). It has good hand support on the ends for easy carry.

I bought & compared them all, THIS IS IT!
Sound geek: I bought & compared the larger Bose JBL Sony and Soundcore, this one was the best sounding BY FAR! I do like the Soundcore (yes more than bose or jbl) one for carrying around to the beach n other dirty outdoor stuff as its cheapest among them and easiest to clean but for EVERYTHING else, the Sony Field speakers are my absolute go-to pick as the batteries last forever and the sound is definitely the best. Only minor gripes are the annoying flashing of the ULT button and the BT volume notches are too jumpy; solution is to use the buttons on the unit its self. But seriously, these are great, Sony did it again. I’ve honestly been impressed by most things they make. Typically solid performance and pretty much bulletproof. Like the honda or toyota of electronics.

Perhaps a little toooo deep
I've previously used 4 sony Bluetooth speakers since a first try with a little SRS-XB32. I saw this become available at a good price after reading some good reviews and had the spare money to replace a big and nice sounding SRS-XG500 that I moved to another room. This is louder and defaults with much heavier bass than what it replaced. Sometimes I'll just be grooving with great music at a loud but not deafening level and the bass content is just too strong, almost shaking the room. Fine if it was a party perhaps but I think I had to tune it a little and take out some bass. However, it does sound great. The biggest criticisms are that Bluetooth is nice and tidy but it drops out a little for a beat occasionally. That's annoying and a wired speaker wouldn't do it. It doesn't sound like a mono source but there is little stereo width due to it all being in the one box, getting good stereo definition would require buying two and grouping them as a stereo pair, or you could keep your head a few inches from one (might as well buy headphones at the same price/quality). Plus, the Sony "Music Center" app for making configuration changes can be a pretty flaky, crashes all the time on one of my recent Samsung tablet models but not on the other. While I can create speaker groups it will only create a "party" group from two same speaker models. I have a pair of SRS-XG300 speakers and grouped as a "stereo" pair they fill a room with great stereo sound but I can't group one ULT Field 7 even with my SRS-XG500 as a "stereo" pair even though they have similar volume and sound. The built in lights are a nice party trick but not much use for anything else, they'll waste enough battery power that I don't normally bother. Non-flashing, calm daylight color can make a nice dark room background that's dimmer than a lamp and better power saving than room lights while reading a book from tablet but aren't bright enough to permit reading a paper book in a dark room.

This thing is a MONSTER!
Dude its bigger than you think! Imagine a standard portable speaker, but for giants. THATS what this is. The power is absolutely BONKERS! My neighbors even yelled at me. And it was barely any volume! At max volume, its barely distorts! The software is a bit scrambled all over, the Ui on the app is an outdated feeling. And a couple weeks later, I FOUND OUT ITS SUPPORTED FOR LDAC! which is crazy for the size of this thing! Portability isn't very ergonomic because of how heavy it is. There probably are accessories for it so it helps with it, but oh well. Its good for the use. Charging speed is a little longer than most things I've charged. But who cares! This is a proper product from sony! This is why I trust sony in the deep of my heart. The fact its 45 watts max power is insane!! I like the light shows it has. I love how it literally syncs to the song itself! The light show colors are very vibrant. This is probably the most positive review I've laid my hands on. Absolute beast of a speaker! You can even use it as a guitar amplifier speaker if you wanted! And it still sounds good!

This speaker is amazing and holds up to the Sony name. I’ve been buying Sony speakers for over a decade and never disappointed. Bass is powerful and audio is crisp and clear. Handles on both sides is nice due to how large the speaker is. Lighting is great as always but not as good as the Sony SRS-XB43’s lighting. Still the lighting it has does the trick. Battery light seems to be perfect. Only real complaint I got is that the audio sounds the tiniest bit distorted at volume levels above 60%. Either then that , I love it.

It's a decent speaker but over hyped.... the reason i bought this speaker because of it says that it has a low frequency of 20Hz which i found is not true.... sounds great up to 40% then if you increase volume the sound shift mostly on mid and higher frequency and it's loud but no bass at all even with EQ settings you can enhance bass but still not effective on higher volume... i definitely liked this sound better than jbl boombox .... i am reviewing it again after listening of my six months experience that it's a wonderful speaker and i realized the most fun part is begin with when you put your speaker on ultfied1 mode then you do eq settings with your phone eq not with sony eq app because to use sony app eq you need to change mode in to custom which is not good but trust me once you have set the phone eq on ultfield1 mode this is gonna be whole different level of experience... try it and that's the only reason i am giving it from 3star to 5 star after using my phone eq settings

I heard this model a few months ago at a SONY showroom in MALAYSIA. The first thing I noticed was the extraordinary sound that emanated from it. Crystal clear wide spectrum vocals with superb clarity & bass. I managed to pick this up at Amazon prime day sale for a great price much lower than what I saw in Malaysia & what was initially advertised in AMAZON. Initial reaction is I'm very happy & look forward to an extended use. The speaker is built like a tank meant to withstand nature. Extremely easy to use after some initial charging. The only speaker in competition to this would be the Marshall Tufton which is slightly more expensive than the SONY.
