This knife has a specific purpose.
I’ve had the knife for 4 years now and carry almost every day. If you are a blue collar guy or retired and wear jeans everyday I wouldn’t bother with this one. I have several SOGs and like them all. My favorites are the Trident and the Slim Jim. This is so light and thin you literally forget you’re carrying it. I wear it with slacks or shorts. Because it’s so light and thin it’s not as easy to flick open but that comes with the light weight! It’s wicked sharp and holds an edge. No I would use this one to pry and beat on but that’s not what it’s for. It’s for cutting and is certainly competent for self defense. When I wear jeans I carry a heavier knife like the Trident. It’s easier to flick open and is much thicker and easier to manipulate. Blade is thicker as well. If you work in an office and want to have a lightweight super tough bulletproof knife, the Slim Jim is for you.

Great knife but be careful learning how to use it.
A very nice compact pocket knife. It is easily clipped to my pocket and available when needed. Does not make a bulge in my pocket or prevent removing other objects. The blade is extremely sharp and the right size for general use.I have had several other SOG knives and know they need to be worked for a while to smooth out the works. Be very careful when doing this. If you have no experience with SOG opening assist really be careful. It is quite easy to cut yourself when learning how to open this knife and smoothing the action. It won't take long and you will be able to reliably open this knife with one hand. Until you are reliably getting full open and locked check before using to prevent the sharp blade closing on your fingers.

Excellent knife
I love this knife. It was very sharp upon arrival, and I have since sharpened it to a razor. It holds an edge very well, and is responsive to quick touch-ups on the blade.I was initially peeved by the opening mechanism. It can be difficult to see the blade open fully with the assisted action; it tends to get stuck halfway. Not only is this frustrating, it's a safety concern.Fret not. Be careful to use (or purchase if you have none) a cleaning solution and an oil/lubricant. Gun cleaner and lubricants work well. I have never had a knife open so buttery smooth, so consistently, with such a small amount of effort. You merely press on the thumb knob and it locks open immediately, no flick or user assistance is required. I can open it so quickly after taking it out of my pocket that people ask if it's a switch.I believe the un-lubricated difficulty opening has to do with the tolerances within this knife. It is CRAZY thin and short for a 3+ inch blade, and it has zero wobble or flex. It tucks away in a pocket without notice. It is light enough you won't think it's there, but feels weighty and strong in the hand. It is in fact very strong, I use this as a daily carry knife and it gets used in all forums. I drop it, get food on it, sit on it or what have you on a regular basis. Not a nick, no bending, no corrosion.I could see the Twitch 2 by SOG being a better knife overall. Handle thickness is highly prohibitive to me; if my knife is too thick I always find an excuse to leave it at home. So I prefer this one. Consider both of them before you buy.

Excellent EDC Knife, needs a tad more refinement to internals
Overall this is an excellent EDC Knife. The 3.2 inch blade may be a bit long for an EDC, but folded this knife is so compact and thin. I can even clip it to the waistband of my althletic pants and not even feel it's there.I was torn between this an the Twitch II (which I will probably get too) but this has exceeded my expectations overall. The clip point blade looks a bit more menacing than a drop point. However it's a good thin but sturdy blade. No slop in it whatsoever. The lockback and assisted opening work great. The blade is also crazy sharp on this thing so b careful. We'll see over time how long it can hold and edge before sharpening. The lock slider both locks the blade closed and open.Only ding against this is that, out-of-the-box feel is a bit lacking. You can feel that the the internals--pivot, lockback, and sliding safety feel a bit rough, like they could have been ground and polished better. I spent some time breaking it in. Additionally, a applied some light gun oil to the internals which helped the opening/closing, safety, and assisted opening quite a bit.Flicking it open now works near flawlessly, and closing with one hand takes a bit of practice. I found that putting my pinky against the belt clip helps get the leverage to flick it open easily.Overall I'd say this is a great EDC knife. If the factory would smooth and polish the internals more I'd give it 5 stars, but a little break-in time and gun oil lube helped smooth it out. It's a good deal, I'd recommend this.

Poorest design ever
I like the assist on this knife, the looks, and overall quality. I don't like that the clip can't be moved. It feels upside down to me and I usually have to look at it to get it open. It snags and is a bugger to get out of your pocket.12/14/2013I've had this knife for a while now and it is the poorest designed knife I've ever owned. The safety gets pushed open when you slide it into your pocket (I've had this knife open in my pocket). The blade lock release is elevated beyond the back of the handle so if you're actually cutting something the pressure of your hand releases the lock. Again I say the quality is there bit the design is terrible.6/27/2016This is the most poorly designed knife I've ever bought. I can't believe I paid $38 for it.
