I was looking for an SPL meter to help calibrate my home theatre speakers' volumes and thought this one was what I needed. It was recommended to use a meter that could utilize the "C" weighted option. I honestly thought this meter had that option but I was incorrect. This is a good meter with plenty of functions and it works really well but this isn't for calibrating home theatre speakers due to the lack of the "C" weighted option.

I needed ts-501b. Which has A & C weight. I needed C weight and small settings to do Onkyo 7.1 speaker and A/V Receiver auto microphone setup. This one only has A weight. Works good for normal sound checks. I returned and got the other one for te reasons stated.

I'm surprised it came with Duracell batteries that's a plus. It also has some nice features like auto shut off. Fast and slow response ambient temperature and some other things. It worked plenty good enough for what I was using for. I don't know about the accuracy but I was using it for comparison so it didn't matter. Ease of use fairly straightforward. Also comes with a large manual which surprise me. I didn't need it though but it's there.

Finally, a device that quantifies what your ears already knew: your neighbor's music is stupidly loud, your apartment's "quiet" dishwasher sounds like a jet engine, and yes, that construction site really is violating every noise ordinance known to humanity. This little gadget turns you into the most pedantic person at parties - "Actually, this conversation is registering 73 decibels, which exceeds recommended levels for sustained exposure." Nothing kills social momentum like whipping out scientific instruments to measure how fun everyone's having.The accuracy seems decent enough for amateur noise policing, though I question my life choices that led me to purchase a device whose primary function is confirming my suspicions about how annoying everything is. It's strangely satisfying to have numerical proof that your upstairs neighbor's 2 AM furniture rearrangement session peaked at 95 decibels, even though this information changes absolutely nothing about your sleep-deprived existence. Perfect for people who want to transform their righteous indignation into cold, hard data because apparently "it's too damn loud" isn't scientific enough anymore.

First let's get the - out of the way, the microphone cover(which is a BIG+)clips are Too tight &have sharp square edges,making it very hard to remove without damaging the foam Mic windscreen.(I smoothed/filed mine problem solved)That said this meter does everything claimed in the manual & that's A LOT! Measure's Sound decibels,fast/slow sample rate, temperature,relative humidity,has data hold,has a backlight that stays on when needed,low batt indicator & auto shutdown, seems to me they got it all just about RIGHT!Oh,it also comes w/Duracell batteries & a carry sack.With some home testing I think the accuracy is as claimed by TOPTES.A stocking stuffer for early holiday shoppers at a Great price & Amazon delivered!

Funciona genial, le puedes dejar las pilas puestas y no se gastan nunca. El medidor es preciso y lo he comprobado un montón de veces. 1 Leer los limites de tu Ciudad 2 Ir al rellano de tu vecino 3 Si excedes el límite bajas si lo mantienes nadie te puede decir nada. 4 El sonido excesivo se mide en casa de tu vecino, no en la tuya. Pero puedes comprobar su funcionamiento en la tuya.

Natürlich misst es alles mögliche in der Umgebung aus und darum springt die digitale Anzeige hoch und runter. Aber Ich habe zb Ventilator, Klima, Abzugshaube usw gezielt gemessen und das funktioniert gut!!! Klare Kaufempfehlung von mir. Ob es für Nachbarschaft Streit taugt wage ich zu bezweifeln. Aber dann klingelt man selbst an der Tür und beschwert sich und braucht nicht ein Gerät als Beweismittel. So halte ich es jedenfalls. 😎
