The perfect tool for checking your soil mositure
I realize that this checks PH and light, but the main purpose for purchasing this tool was to verify we were not over-watering or under watering our house plants. We thought we were over-watering but learned the exact opposite. It checks moisture immediately, uses no batteries and is easily moved from plant to plant. The beauty of the tool is much like a digital camera. You quickly learn just how much water you need to add each time you water. Your use will likely become less frequent as you learn by how the soil looks and feels when it has the right amount of moisture. The plants immediately began to respond. This is an amazingly simple tool to use and I highly recommend it. The seller delivered as promised and the tool absolutely exceeded my expectations.

Great customer service
Worked fine for a couple of weeks and then stopped working completely. I emailed Sonkir and they immediately sent me a new one, no questions asked. The new one arrived and appears to be working well.

Update after "Not very accurate"
Update on my review: Sonkir reached out to me after my review. They were very accommodating and went above and beyond to please me. They sent me a replacement meter and this one seems to be doing better than the first one. I still have some reservations about the accuracy of the device, but I do realize I bought a $10 meter. In my initial review, I stated I purchased three. One was from Sonkir and the other two were from another seller. They all look to be manufactured by the same supplier—raising concerns about manufacturing quality control. If I was to purchase one again, I would buy it from Sonkir because they took the time to make sure I was happy. I purchased 3 of these thinking I could get a good idea of when to water my plants. After using them for a couple of weeks, I was doubting their accuracy. I was always reading that my soil was dry, even when it appeared damp and was moist to the touch. My plants call for moist soil, so I wanted to see what it would take to get to moist. I put the tester in extremely wet soil, where I could see the water in the soil and it still barely measured the water. I tried them in a glass of water, they finally measured moist. At that point, you’d think they’d measure wet. I only gave the product two stars due to the appeared lack of accuracy.

Effective for moisture and pH readings
I really should give this five starts, but the "sunlight" feature, I fear, is probably completely worthless especially if you live in a hot climate. First thing's first. The pH reading and the moisture reading are invaluable. Here's my story. I live in Phoenix. Growing grass in Phoenix is a project that never ends. I bought one of these to try to tell me what I was doing wrong. I thought for certain that the pH on my grass was off, but before potentially ruining all of my soil with a bunch of line, I needed to ensure that it was the correct problem. This gauge told me that the problem was somewhere else. Well, what else could it be? This gauge also allowed me to measure for moisture. Now, the purpose I have with this is to see how deep the moisture was getting and how long the moisture would stay in the soil at that depth. What I found was that there was plenty of moisture in the top inch or so of the soil, but the moisture wasn't getting deep enough. Ooh. That's an easy problem to solve. Just water for longer intervals (fewer times per week). This strategy has actually saved me money, and my lawn is healthier as well. Of course, this didn't solve the problem. My Bermuda grass still died off after a few weeks, so I guess we're down to sunlight. The problem with this gauge, given the fact that I have no idea how it measures sunlight, is that it was telling me that my soil was getting plenty of sunlight three inches deep in the dead of the night. I suspect that the reason for this is because the dirt here in Phoenix stays hot 24/7 during the summer, but I could be mistaken. The solution to my problem is that I was using grass that was not shade tolerant. My Bermuda grass wasn't getting enough sunlight to survive. I have since planted some St. Augustine palmetto grass, and it is thriving. While this tool did not tell me what my problem was, it helped me to eliminate two possibilities. It's an invaluable tool for at least two of the three tasks it purports to assist with. EDIT" I'm dropping this review down to 3 stars. I use this tool regularly, sometimes 2-3 times a week during the summer, in the rocky Phoenix soil. It lasted about 2.5 years, so a star is taken off for lack of durability.

Such an amazing product, 100% would recommend
Such an amazing product, 100% would recommend!!! I bought a plant from a garden show and I was worried about killing the plant because I had no prior experience with gardening. This product gave me the necessary data to make sure the soil was healthy enough for my plant. Every time I come home, I systematically check the readings on the ph meter, and it saves me so much effort on trying to figure out if my plant is doing well. Love this!

Almost Disposable
I really don’t know how accurate it is because I didn’t have more than one at the same time to compare. So I am going to give it the benefit of doubt and assume it is pretty accurate. What I really have a problem with is how cheaply it’s made. When my first one broke after three months, I just chalked it up to bad luck. Then I bought another one at the hardware store and it too stopped working within six months. There aren’t too many other choices out there (they may have different brands but essentially they are all the same) and because I am a glutton for punishment, I bought yet another one. The last one lasted little longer, 8 months (I think it was due to the fact that I treated it kit gloves) . Three strikes you’re out. I’m going to give up on these cheesy ones and try to find an alternative. TRY is the optimal word because I can’t seem to find an Alternative
