This works pretty well in combination with a cold chisel and masonry hammer. The blades are expensive but you can get a lot of use out of each one by gradually rotating it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thin, but don't last long *by J***J on May 7, 2025* The thin kerf is excellent. I'm using this to remove 1/16 inch grout between standard 4 inch ceramic tiles in a shower.The good: thinThe bad: carbide wears out quicklyNote: I thought I was getting starlock plus blades (the ones without the holes around the star), but regular starlock showed up (with the holes). I needed starlock so this was a welcome surprise.If you want to maximize life of these blades here's my advice:- Go slow, use your oscillating tool at the lowest speed- Do not apply too much pressure. This will burn up the edge of the carbide- Use the entire edge of the blade and don't focus on one spot too much- Use a mix of 50 percent isopropyl alcohol and water to cool the blade regularly during use. This will preserve the carbide- Use a fan to cool your oscillating tool or you will likely burn up the motor.With all the above tricks, I can remove about 60 linear feet of 1/16" grout per blade. Use that as a reference for your job.Not great considering the price, but there don't seem to be many options for blades this thin. I think if they were diamond abrasive it would last longer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thinner than others I have used *by T***. on February 12, 2024* Worked great at cutting into the grout line and fiber cement board to remove a decorative mosaic previously installed that needs to be replaced.Could have used a grinder but I did not want to damage the existing tile.
