This was a 5 star product until the red felt came loose from the inner of the cap. It can be repaired but that’s not the point. It does let the product done a little.

Great weight, great feel, maybe better than the heavy original?The cap fits tightly when new, which means I'm not worried it will fall off (like I was with the original). The felt on the inside has a 1 mm gap at the bottom of the rim - but I consider this a welcome feature: find the gap to quickly determine what side is down, so the Leica logo ends up horizontal on the camera (hehe).Highly recommended!UPDATE: I managed to find the original one, and realized that this lid is actually quite a bit heavier than the original. However, the original fits so loosely on the lens that it keeps falling off when camera is removed from bag. So for as long as this lid stays snug, I’ll still prefer this one - despite the increased weight.

After being used a relatively few times, the fabric inner lining easily becomes disturbed abd the lens cap then becomes neither easy to use or effective. It seems that the frictional force of fitting the cap securely on the camera is stronger than the adhesive holding the fabric in place

Great fit and lovely finish. Works well with the lens and grips really well. I think the inner felt is glued so my only concern would be how well it holds up in hot climate countries. Otherwise very happy.

On receipt, found the red flannel lining had been cut too short to cover the full inner perimeter and was not fully attached.
