What mm size are the small balls on the pull chain? I bought this valve, but I need a longer chain. I bought another chain but it was to small.

See if mfg. can sell a longer chain, add ons, or just another of the same chain and connect the rings.

How long does it stay on for?. Or do you have to hold it on.

One has to pull down on the chain to open the valve, once released the water shuts off.

Is this suitable for outdoor showers in marine environments? Is it resistant to pitting and rust near an ocean?

Yes,,,I use it outdoors in Florida,,,it seems high quality and although it is finished nicely soon or later it will show some corrosion,,,I put a good car polish on mine it look great.

Is the valve handle adjustable to reposition, example: for a vertical pipe set up?

If the piping leading to the valve is strong, it can be used in a vertical set up.

beware the rusty rings.....

Quality is good, and it works well, BUT be aware that the split rings on either end of the chain are not stainless steel (why, for goodness sake???) and rust very quickly.

Leaks, does not self close completely.

Bought this self closing valve for an outdoor shower next to the pool. Great description and design, but it will not close 100%. It leaks. Too late to return, because I purchased it in December 2024……along with other project parts along the way. Custom galvanized pipe configuration connecting to water supply, welding required for the pipe mount, etc. Check photo. Just finished installing yesterday, February 25…..and it’s not shutting off after first test. Fast drip of about 12 fluid oz per minute. Seriously disappointed. DON'T BUY
