As a 66 year old grandmother, using my heavy, gas powered trimmer was really a chore. I dreaded even cranking it on. This light electric trimmer is totally awesome - so light, two batteries, each one lasted me 45 minutes . It is perfect for a lawn that has been edged before. It really does well creating a deep edge when turned on its side - I mean wow - I created an inch deep and inch wide edge using this thing. As a weed whacker, it is good - however, its not for serious whacking of underbrush - like heavy duty brush clearing in other words. But to maintain a yard it is absolutely divine. I had to go over an area back and forth twice, instead of just once since it is only 1 string, but its worth it! Also, no winding, re-stringing either - just pop in the new spool and you are ready to go! I bought several extra spools since they are so cheap. Love the design on this thing. Well made and durable especially for the cost.

I have been using this for 2 years now and it works great. Those that complain about it need to understand that this is a trimmer and NOT a Bush Hog! It for lightweight duty and does just fine for it! Trimming the sidewalk and curb, knocking down some light weeks and grass. Having 2 batteries is great. They don't last a long time so keep them charged. I am STILL on my first spool on line after 2 years! I would like more bottom caps than the one extra as if you do a lot of sidewalk work it shreds them pretty quick. I recommend as long as you understand what you are buying. It's not an industrial/commercial use trimmer.

I’m sorry. I don’t usually write reviews like this but it’s to be said after three times of trying with this weed eater. First of all, I should have known it was too good to be true when it was only $69 and had a coupon for $20 off. It seemed like a great deal and my current electric weedeater had a broken part so I decided to try this one fresh and new. Some good points. It’s easy to assemble and put together. However it seems like a kids toy when you’re holding it. Shorter than usual and no way to adjust the length like most weed eaters. Secondly I didn’t catch that it only has one “string” coming out. Whereas most all conventional weed eaters have two when it’s spinning. This one only had one. Then I took it outside. It seems way too weak with power, combined with the only one string. It barely cuts grass. It WONT cut weeds. It does a terrible job edging (see my picture after basically “sawing back and forth” every few feet and still it left my yard looking terrible). It’s simply terrible. Maybe a good gift for a child that wants to watch a parent using an adult weedeater but this thing is just not good at all. Additionally the battery runs down quick. I sure wish I could get my money back. But the thing is nasty with grass and dirt and I respect that I DID use it so I won’t ask for a refund. I really had hopes for this one. It just didn’t live up to the ad.

The trimmer works well overall. It’s lightweight and the cutting performance is ok for regular yard work. One of the batteries died after only two or three charge cycles. I'm still giving 5 starts since the second battery is still working and have decent charge life cycle. Aside from that issue, it’s a good value for the price and gets the job done.

The good, bad, and ugly. This is my second battery trimmer and its a hecka lot better than the first. I bought a million extra reels so I'm kinda married to it. It works great. It will cut, angle and dig well (IFYKYK). It is easy to wield and my DH won't do a triple edge cut so here I am living the weed whacking dream. The reels are fabulous and clutch out well. The battery lasts a reasonable amount of time and since they give you two you can happily switch. I'm not going to weed eat longer than an hour in the Southern sun anyway so that is not an issue. Anyone who thinks a recharging power batt is going to last an hour is not being reasonable. HOWEVER, and this is the bad and ugly part; I've had it 18 months and today it died. Battery wore down as usual after a good cut and it wouldn't restart. Figured it was batt and swapped out. both won't fire it so I must assume something has gone wrong. I did pay the $75 for it in 2025, but when I look at it today its $40. That's a no brainer as I have so many reels left. I'm getting one for me and daughter as she keeps using it. I wish I didn't have to buy it all over again, but I'm sure its worth $40 of weed eating. Hell, you can't get a teenager to do yard work for that for an hour and a half and this thing does work.

after amazon sending me a very used trimmer and me sending it back they made it right and sent me a brand new string trimmer and boy i couldnt be any happier with this product. it is just what i needed around here. i love this thing and recommend this jagrom string trimmer to anyone who needs one. cant beat the price either. great deal.

This string trimmer has been a great addition to my bag of tricks as spring kicks into full gear. I have always been a gas weed whacker kind of guy but after the third season in a row of refusing to start, despite having done all the maintenance on it last fall for storage, I was fed up. Time to go electric. This string trimmer spoke to me for 2 reasons: One was the two batteries that come by default. Lots of companies send one or even 0 batteries with their devices and wouldn't you know that they are the same price as the actual tool! Two batteries is an absolute must for gardening applications because if it dies on you half way through you know you have the other one on the charger ready to go. The second thing is the second retaining clip. This seems like a bit of an odd thing to point out but having used string trimmers for my whole life I can tell you that retaining clip, the part that holds your reel of string in place sees a lot of abuse. The clips hit rocks, metal pipes, get bumped or dropped etc. Once they break they can be hard to find replacements. This product comes with an extra one which I think shows how much thought they put into this product. Good call. Assembly was easy, no tools are required to get up and running. A reel of string comes pre-installed which is a nice touch and a handy length guide for the string is right on the guard. You will not find better battery life for this price point; but with the dual batteries I think that is a non-issue. I posted a picture of all the extras that this product comes with because quite honestly this product comes with everything you need to start whacking with lots of reels for backup. I'm pretty sure there is enough line here to mow my 3 acres outright, but I'll leave that experiment for a different review.
