UPDATE 1 MONTH-- Still works great. It IS a little quirky sometimes, but honestly it’s fine. I’ve had to reset WiFi/bluetooth 2 or 3 times to connect, but I sort of expected it anyway.- The microphone is GARBAGE. I’m not sure whether it’s because there’s one on the unit and an external one, but if I want to talk on the phone “hands free”, I have to hold the mic in my hand and speak directly into it for there to be no noise. Same with talk to text or asking Siri to do things. This is a pretty big issue because I use Siri often and need to be able to talk on the phone hands free. I’ll report back when I have a solution.- Sound quality is actually amazing. Zero complaints. The customization of it was also a surprise.- Zero lag on the screen and no issues at all. I did get the steering wheel volume done and it was easy. I was doing it wrong. Works great. Zero issues.- Car Play app works great. Connects as soon as I get in. Like I said, I’ve had to reset BT/Wifi a couple times but no big deal.- I use nothing on the unit software except the radio sometimes. I didn’t install the backup camera because I like my mirror one.Overall still very pleased with my decision, except that whole microphone thing. Luckily it’s a 1/8” jack, so I’m looking into name brand aftermarket to fix. I’ll say if I can’t get that fixed I’ll probably end up having to upgrade. I spend most of my work day in the truck on the phone.I’ll be back with more updates.OK look I’ve been looking at TONS of these for my 2011 Tacoma 4wd base. This was the only one with 6g RAM and I pulled the trigger on it. The reviews seemed fine except installation, which I really don’t get because it couldn’t be easier.FIT - the folks that say the top doesn’t fit or stay in forgot to SAVE THE YELLOW CLIPS FROM THE FACTORY UNIT AND PUT THEM ON THIS ONE. Having said that, it IS a little jiggly in there, and I intend to fix that with a couple spacers. But it’s definitely clipped in and not coming out. (Just installed tonight). It took me 20 minutes to get the old one out, and another 30 to put this one in. I had the silver front with Cd player - yes, even though they don’t picture that one, it works. No problems with connectors etc.There is a YouTube video on another brand that I watched that was perfect - except do not break off the clips for the hazard part. It actually fits this one. It’s titled “How to install 9” Android Plug and Play Unit (Toyota Tacoma 2005-2010)” by AudioVisionUSA. Go watch it. It’s almost real-time. Note the removal of the 9 screws to get to the 5 screws to remove / save the hazard panel.Ok connectivity - Perfect. Set up 1 time to car play and have got out and in several times and it immediately connects. WiFi - boom. One time on my hotspot. Links every time so far.Speed - zero lag. Again I got the 6g and can’t imagine why you’d get anything else. 200 bucks? lolSound Quality - if you’re a Tacoma owner, you know aftermarket Bluetooth AND AUX is so quiet you can max out both volumes and have a quiet conversation in the cab. No more my friends. This is - more than anything else- what I hoped was going to happen. It is loud, and I am actually surprised at the sound quality. Again, $200? lol sure.Called a few people and they Silas sound was fine. I’ve seen a couple other revealed with noisy microphones. Dunno. Not my experience so far.Quality - build- decent. The plastics around the unit are a little thin, but it does look good.Screen feels huge after running around with a phone mounted on the factory radio. Very Clear. Also - there are quite a few options for the Home Screen. It says “customizable” but I think it just means you can pick from a bunch they have loaded on it.I have not been able to get the steering wheel controls to work (only have volume, scan and mode) but there’s a thing for it. I plan to reach out to the company to get some help. If that’s all I lose I don’t really care, but it would be nice to have. I’ve heard others had that issue and the support helped resolve it.I didn’t do the camera. I might later, but I actually like my factory in-mirror. Even if you don’t install it, make sure you plug the connector in the back. It says “…or your WiFi and Bluetooth connection will suffer”.I WILL be back in 6 months for an update. I’ll also add some photos soon.Like I said - out of the box everything works as it should and it was crazy easy to install.Hopefully I don’t have to come back and eat every word, because first impression is way beyond what I thought it would be good.I added the 2yr protection just in case.Overall, after waiting for about 2 years to finally purchase, I’m pretty pleased and what an awesome upgrade this is for the Taco. Looks great and I don’t feel like it’s 1996 with my CD player and analog display and Bluetooth connected to a radio station. A+ SO FAR.

Great fitment in my 2008 Tacoma. It can get a little bit buggy when adjusting some settings but sound is improved and screen looks good both at night at in the day. Super easy install that took me only 30 mins with no experience.

After sifting through the reviews, I chose this unit because of the service, and they were not wrong. Although I didn't have a serious issue their email was responsive (next workday).The unit was inexpensive related to other units. I didn't need to buy trim piece or any adapters. You will have to have patience and possibly a little experience to get the work done, but YouTube was my friend, so I was able to do all the work with a buddy.The only issue I ran into was that I chose to use a different camera than was included. If I'd used the included one, I imagine that I would have had no problems.

I went to install the stereo yesterday and it appears I’m missing a trim piece that attached the hazard/clock section to the face plate. There are also 2 tabs that are missing on the bottom section that would secure the faceplate to the truck. I see in some other reviews that the lower tabs where also missing for them but I cannot even secure the hazard/clock part to the stereo.On a side note the stereo itself is really impressive for the price, it was really easy (plug and play) to set up. Just unplug the old stereo and plug in the new connectors. But I can not get ahold of there customer service to figure out if I’m missing pieces. Will update the review if I get the correct parts.

My son got for his truck. We have noticed it doesn’t work when there are two devices on in vehicle with blue tooth on. He was ready to take it out and toss because of the interference. Seems better now we know that but still gives him problems at times.

get the 4g memory.. the 2g sucks.

Install took less than an hour and all adapters came pre wired to fit the radio. For the price is an amazing unit. Sure it’s not the fastest in terms of lag and such but it’s a $120 radio and comes with wireless car play I’m not sure what people really expect for the price it gives you a lot! Install was super easy if you know what you’re doing.

Update: Customer service got back to me and gave me an update and option that was appreciated. They mean well and take pride in their work.Original: Installation and performance was amazing at first. The fit wasn’t flush as it was marketed but after reaching out to the support staff they told me that they would send one that was revised. Also began having an issue with the whole system powering off for 15 minutes at a time randomly, they said they’ll look into it. This was two months after purchase. It’s been over a year without anyone reaching back or replying after asking for an update . I switched back to my stock system because not having the unit work all the time was frustrating.
