Venture Pal Packable Lightweight Backpack Small Water Resistant Travel Hiking Daypack

Was picking up lightweight backpacks for the family for a Disneyland trip. Saw this Lightning deal and after previous encounters with Venture Pal packs, decided to get this and see how it would faire.I love how Venture Pal packs are light, strong, durable, fold up into nice little self-contained pouches and resist those annoying splashes and leaks that with some packs tend to impact my sensitive camcorder gear.This pack was the quintessential day pack for a Disneyland adventure. Not too big, not too small. Held up under splashes and leaks and kept everything safe and secure and was easy to tote around all day from one strap or from two. I still used zip bags for water rides but my jacket and snacks still stayed dry after a few "soakings", so I felt good about the water-resistance features.Love how it folds down. Makes it easy to toss into a suitcase or another pack for use later. Great pack. Great price.

Love this backpack! Took it on my recent trip to Alaska. It was with me constantly and held up beautifully. Very light weight which I loved and lots of compartments! I'm 5'2' and bought the 25L...perfect for my size as some backpacks end up at my butt!! This was plenty big to hold my cell phone, wallet, gloves, hat, sunglasses, camera and my rain jacket. I love that it's packable and the pouch is ATTACHED! I recommended this to another couple and she purchased the grey/black. She is 4 ft. 10 and loved it as well. Great little travel bag and also fits under seat in plane!

I took this backpack on a hike with my granddaughter. It was comfortable, and she actually carried it a lot of the way. We had two water bottles in the outside mesh pockets, and a lunch for both of us. There was room for a good bit more. The main compartment has a pocket inside for separating items. The smaller, outer zip-up compartment is a little larger than two water bottles. The last exterior zip-up compartment has a vertical zipper, and I was hoping to keep my phone in there. It was too small for my LG Stylo 3, however, so this was the only drawback. My phone was hard to find in the bigger compartments. It's very lightweight and sturdy for short trips. It can also be refolded and put back into its small storage bag, which is attached.

I bought this backpack on a prime day deal and wanted to wait on posting a review until I'd used it a bit, so what follows is my review and experience so far.This backpack is great! I personally feel that it is a little large folded up, but it's still compact and takes up minimal room in a pack which is the only reason why I knocked a star off the review. I'd give this backpack a 4.5 out of 5 stars if I could. This backpack has enough pockets for me to feel organized without having too many to make me feel like I have to use all of them. Seems to hold up under a fair amount of weight and the two water bottle pockets are fantastic.I can fit enough for a day hike or an all-day trip to theme parks.I originally thought that the padded straps wouldn't really do anything, but they are nice and soft, I can see this backpack becoming an everyday staple for me when I have quick day trips planned.

Update 2-16-20: Enjoyable cruise and the backpack completely met all my needs. Small enough to be unobtrusive, large enough to hold everything I would need for the day. It held dry shorts and shirt, beach towel sunscreen and a number of other bits and pieces leaving space for even more, but the best part, 2 large water bottle/drink holders. Fill them up and you'll have your hydration close at hand.I didn't want a large backpack for my upcoming cruise, so here's hoping I'll be happy with this one. After opening it, putting on my back it appears to be a good smaller size. Repacking it wasn't difficult, just roll it up tightly. A quick note regarding the color, the green one I got is a dark green, not the teal'ish green shown. The color is nice and not a deal breaker. I'll update when I get back from my cruise.

This is a great little backpack! I took it to Hawaii and it held up to everything. Waterfalls, hiking, beaches, volcanos, boats, planes, and everything in between. It was able to hold my sunscreen, hats, micro fiber towel, swimsuit, and light lunch. It's really a great back. I used it as a day bag everywhere I went and have no regrets. Its big enough to hold everything I need but stayed light and easy to manage. This bag was in constant use, folded up for eight flights, thrown on the ground, and it held up better than I expected. Highly recommendUpdate: two years later and this bag can really take a beating! Hawaii, countless beach trips, and Cancun! Can't recommend this bag enough. It has become my travel essential. I pack it in my carryon and use it to explore! Much more light weight compared to my other bags

When the backpack arrived I was super excited at how pretty the pattern was, how sturdy it felt, and the fact that it makes whatever is in it feel lightweight. I've been only using this backpack for ten days going to work and back home again. It's struggle is my back seat and the floor of my office. I do not understand how it is fraying already.Currently debating whether to return it, but leaning towards keeping it because of how lightweight it is versus how heavy everything feels in my usual purses.

It was a very light and easy to pack backpack but unfortunately the zip jammed up after only a few days.
