Perfect Solution For Small Businesses, And A Great Upgrade For Large Home Systems. Read more --
We've had Ubiquiti networking pieces for a while now. It started with a couple AP's managed via a Raspberry PI, added an EdgerouterX when a prior Security Gateway turned out to be not so secure. With a local available upgrade to gigabit internet service, it's again time to upgrade for the higher throughput, plus this cloud gateway ultra bundles Unify the management tasks with some security functions the EdgerouterX isn't quite as good at. Instant plusses include no-subscription access to a listing of known-bad sites to block, with a few levels of filtering available. It also supports VLANs natively, a nice feature that lets me segregate business, entertainment, and guest access pretty easily. The Unify console manages more than enough Ubiquiti devices to support our SOHO operations with two separate professional service businesses operating out of our home. The capabilities list includes multiple options for VPN access, which when paired with the VLAN capabilities completely isolates the two businesses and the rest of our home needs. Al in a compact and low-power package that lives in my server closet. I'm still learning all the capabilities, but plenty of info and support is available through Ubiquiti's own support resources and a fairly robust online user support base. So far I'm pleased with how it's working and how easy it is to configure. If you are working on a system that demands security and performance well beyond what my ISP describes as, [cough], "robust", but don't care to go all the way to a Meraki or similar with a subscription model, this may be the answer for you. At barely over $100, it's a fraction of the cost of those Cisco options even without the subscription costs added on. After some of the hard-coded backdoor access options revealed in our last 'security' gateway, I'm a little skittish about a few of the other mid-grade pro-sumer options available now. After a few years with the Edgerouter, I'm pretty comfortable staying in the Ubiquiti product family, especially with being able to consolidate so many functions into the one little package. Are you looking for a more secure and comprehensive upgrade from typical consume routers and wifi products? Got a range of user access needs? Got a small to medium business where you want to closely maintain user access and security for both staff and guests? This may be your answer. It has been for us so far.

Works flawlessly with my UniFi Wifi Mesh System
Being able to monitor and configure just about every since part of my network and the hardware as well has made my life so much better. The price was very fair for the stability and features this device added. Would buy again!

The "Apple" of networking solutions!
Great brand, value, and numerous accessories. Super easy to install/set up using their app which auto-links to the device using bluetooth. I have the device in the cellar and a U6 Mesh (POE, not plugged in) on the main floor which provides coverage for the whole house and even to the outdoor patios. Beautifully designed and even the packaging shows they have left nothing to chance.

My home network became amazing!
I already had a couple of Ubiquiti access points, so it made sense to get a Ubiquiti gateway. I like that this one is fast, affordable, and hosts the Network app. (I used to run the Network app on an old laptop, and I'm really not going to miss that machine.) Setting up the gateway took longer than I expected, but it went pretty smoothly once I learned to navigate the app and find the settings I needed. I'm somewhat of a networking expert, but this was my first time setting up this brand of gateway, and some of the settings are buried in non-obvious places. The UI includes a huge number of settings to play with, and provides a ton of useful data. I can now troubleshoot and configure my network in all sorts of ways I could never do with my old router! Learning how to configure this thing takes an investment of time, but it's worth it. It's definitely not plug-and-play! It's a great gateway for small businesses or large homes, but only if there's someone willing to dedicate time to getting it set up correctly.

compact, full UniFi OS network controller experience, absolute no-brainer.
I’ve been running the Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Ultra (UCG-Ultra) in a small office environment, and it has performed completely flawlessly. The standout feature for us is the expanded multi-WAN support. We have it configured with 3 different Internet Service Providers (ISPs) simultaneously for maximum uptime, and the load balancing and failover routing handle it effortlessly. It’s compact, completely silent, gives you the full UniFi OS network controller experience without subscription fees, and doesn't break a sweat with full IDS/IPS threat protection turned on. If you run a small business or a demanding home office where internet reliability is non-negotiable, this little box is an absolute no-brainer.

Amazing Unit!
The Ubituiti Cloud Gateway Ultra is such an amazing product! It connects to your ISP very perfect and it has been quite stable for everything I need it to do. It looks pretty clean and is fairly easy to use. It is very stable and powerful while being very versatile. Would recommend if you feel like doing your own home network setup.

It's UniFi
I've never been a huge fan of the unifi routers they have historically always been security prone nightmares. When your in a pinch these are amazing for getting you up and running very quickly. They do the job just wouldn't use them for anything past a home or very small business. Anything past 15 employees it's time to start looking for a real enterprise setup not enterprise lite like Unifi. As with all Unifi stuff it looks very pretty! One of if not the best web interface of any ecosystem in current IT landscape. It's simple to use has a few nerd nobs not enough to scare a new person away but not enough to keep most IT people for long. Pros // Cheap Can do the 1Gb IPS it says "give or take a few mb" Pretty GUI Took them a few years to stop responding to SSH and ICMP on the WAN interface but it's fixed now. Did not require that stupid web account! Can run local hell yeah that's how it should be. Use the remote stuff if you wish. \\ Cons // Running a container on the edge. Horrible firewall rule set configuration talk about confusing. Permissive rules by default! If your controller dies "this devices" you loss 100% of control over your network. Ok for home not for business. \\ Overall it's actually not a bad unit wish it had 2.5Gb nics on all ports but that's the next version up which I will move to to when a decent 16 port 2.5Gb PoE VLAN capable switch exist that doesn't kill the wallet. A few do exist but are well above the reasonable price for home use devices. Would love to see UniFi come out with an updated version of the 16 port lite.

For people who want to have controls on their networks
Very solid product. This is a must-have if using Ubiquiti AP. It supports UniFi software ( like the cloud key but all-in-one gateway). UniFi is also nice, easy to use. It has all feature/data display on your phone make you feel the controls of your network. It has been running for a bit more than a year now. Zero issue. If I would say 1 thing to improve, it will be nice if it could powered by POE switch. I have a USW lite 8 PoE switch (4 PoE + 4 Ethernet port) which powers 2x U7 Pro and USW Flex Mini (5 ports). Total PoE usage is about 23W out of 52W. If UCG can be powered by the PoE switch, I will have less wiring. Price? Yes. It is more expensive than 2 WiFi routers. My setup is about $670 (UCG, 2x U7 Pro, and USW-lite-8-PoE). But, every ubiquiti product can last more than 5 years, unlike others only last about 2-3 years (usually because of weakened WiFi signals and end-of-life firmware updates). If you want a cheaper setup, try the "dream router 7" with additional AP (with a PoE injector). You could do it with $500.

Powerful Network Management
Really impressive. I’ve been able to manage my home network with so much peace of mind. However, if you’re not a techi, ChatGPT is amazing. Just share screenshots and your ideals and it will guide you.

Parfait mais un peu cher
Tres bon petit routeur, j'ai meme gagner un peu en debit sur le reseau local. Permet d'avoir la gestion des autres périphériques Ubiquiti dans une seule interface, c'est tres convivial à l'utilisation

Grym router utan WiFi WiFi
Superbra, lätt att konfigurera, känns snabb och får bra hastigheter Viktigt att notera att denna är utan WiFi så man behöver AP för WiFi

Excellent equipment but avoid if you are not a network specialist.
An excellent item but requires a specialist to install. Definitely not for those without a good network working knowledge. Fortunately, my neighbour owns a company, which installs this type of network item, but it still took an hour or so to properly install. Once up and running and commensurate with ubiquiti/Unifi Branded equipment, the items work well and are of excellent quality. However, a word of warning, if you are not knowledgeable and contact the support office, they expect you to be a specialist and merely refer you to FAC sheets, which I reiterate, if you are not a specialist, are of no assistance whatsoever. Recommended, but not for the faint hearted!
