(switch-q) i see complaints about the switch, idk who they ordered from but if it is an issue has it been resolved / revised + fixed for new versions?

What does the on/off switch do?  Mine doesn't do anything--regardless of which direction the switch is the mic is always on...

Either I have a "lemon" or my unit does not function as it should ALL the time. I had experienced audio bleeding at one baseball game I was announcing at. The switch was in the OFF position. I immediately went to my backup switch ($11 inline switch) and I was fine. I had an audio tech look at my unit and all he said he did was take the base apart and spray the internal of the switch with cleaner. After it was completely dry, he reassembled the base and gave the this switch back to me. It was working fine for about 2 weeks and then all of a sudden that audio bleed started all over again. So back to the $11 inline switch that works fine. I'm going to by a few more of the inline switch. It's too bad because when this switch works, I like it. However, my unit is NOT dependable.

Does this have power to it? I have something similar to this but it's for an ove the ear mic. The switch box is powered by a 9 volt battery.

No power.  This is totally passive and has good isolation in the base.

Can this work with the shure super 55 and 55 sh (elvis mic)?

Should work fine as long as the mic does not require phantom power although it can work as long as you are not switching it on and off. That can cause a might loud pop.
