I don't want to install any (more) cameras, at least not unless it's more security cameras, in my workplace, for cost and other reasons - partly because people just don't like the feeling that they're on camera, even in the workplace where there's no real expectation of privacy. But at the same time, I want some idea of "traffic" patterns of employees and this really fits the bill. I know the idea is to record a count of humans passing through at an entrance for a retail location, and it'll work great for that. That's fine. But there's a certain passage at work that people need to take to get to an area that's kind of a hideout for unscheduled breaks replete with shop talk and nonsense, and general lack of work being done. And it's also on the way to where people go to sneak a smoke. I already know who's going there, but I wanted to know how often it was happening. I wanted to anonymously know how often people were abandoning their work station (and thus abandoning customer service) to go to places that aren't really authorized, and places they don't need to be. As soon as this arrived I installed it, and I locked the counter so that it can't be reset. I placed it in the only location where it must be passed by and can't be ducked or tricked - just to get an idea of how many times folks were accessing an area they shouldn't be accessing. I need to know if that area needs to be remodeled to just put in an emergency exit only, or maybe get new staffers who don't want to go play hookey all the time. LOL. Works great! Tested it myself and tried to defeat it by sneaking under it, jumping over it, etc. Nope. Only thing is that if it's a wide passage and there are more than 1 person passing, it might get counted as only 1 passage - but they need to be really close together for that to happen and it'd be more likely if an adult and child were together than a pair of adults - so I think it's very accurate. This is just the thing to count movements. Should be great at a retail entrance, but it's superb for anywhere you need a movement count but don't want to get intrusive with cameras and don't want to review camera footage and count passers-by with the recording running on high speed. Just very simple, and very effective. Love it. And I definitely recommend it!

Device began with accurate counts but now VASTLY overcounts traffic into the tens of thousands when at most there are 100 people.

This counter worked perfectly for 8 months, then started vastly overcounting. I replaced the batteries and it started vastly undercounting. Now, 10 months in, it's completely non-functional. I really wanted to love this, but it's just not reliable. Edited to add: the company offered me a full refund. Excellent customer service!

This is a super nice little people counter! It comes pretty much ready to go, and the best part is that it's 100% Wireless so you don't have to worry about finding a plug near the location that you want to set it up. It does take a batteries, but according to the manual the batteries will last quite a while so you don't really even have to worry about that! So far just from testing this out a little bit it also seems very accurate! It will literally only count a person walking past! My husband tried doing a goofy dance in front of it moving back and forth and it did not count that, it only counted the one time that he walked through the doorway. This seems very well made and from sturdy materials as well! I absolutely love that you can't reset it unless you have the keychain so a kid or a curious adult can't come up and push a button and reset your whole counter. This definitely does the job excellently, and it's everything that it was supposed to be and described to be in the ad. Super happy with this and definitely think it's an excellent value for the money and if you are looking for an accurate reliable counter this is definitely a great option! 10/10

Okay quality materials, functions well: This product is a great way to keep track of foot traffic moving through a store or other indoor area. The quality of the exterior materials is not the best, admittedly, as the plastic used is very light and just better than what I would consider flimsy. I also don't love the fact that its not rechargeable, although you can always use a set of rechargeable AAA batteries if desired. Despite the seemingly lower quality of the materials used, though, the product has so far functioned pretty well. I use these in a ~5 foot hallway and haven't had any issues with accuracy so far. The setup is pretty simple too as you can mount them on a wall in a couple different ways - I used the adhesive strips and they've held up just fine (an advantage of them being so lightweight). The count also displays right on one of the devices for easy reading/recording, and the reset tool has also worked well. Overall, this is a good product and I would recommend.

My wife is a yoga instructor and has seen her business boom in the past few years. It's reached the point that we need to find her a larger facility to conduct classes and for the instructors she employees to conduct classes, have an office, etc. I've been put in charge of this project and am trying to get a handle on the type of building and setup she needs. One of the first things I've been trying to quantify is how much traffic she gets in and out of the place. This device is specifically designed to do just that. I've used traffic counters in the past that required difficult configuration and ended up not being accurate. This one is simple to set up and easy to use with all of the data stored on the device itself. It requires a key to reset which is a great way to prevent against accidentally erasing your data. It couldn't be more simple to setup and use yet it is able to deliver very accurate traffic data. That's the name of the game and it does it well. Highly recommended!

This is a simple tool that does its job really well. Perfect for a small business or an even pop at an enclosed location just to get an idea of how many people are coming to your store or attending your event etc. Set up is easy, install is easier all you really need is batteries and a location then let the spy games, if you are using them for such purposes or more likely people counting begin. Let it be known it counts my dogs as people. This may be because they are 250 lbs… I’m not sure because they are the only animals that have walked past it, but they skew the numbers lol because they wander ceaslessly, this is only a factor if your store or event allows canines if not ignore this tidbit. Da es bei der Beurteilung eines Gerätes insbesondere um seine Funktion und Zuverlässigkeit geht und nicht um eine Bedienungsanleitung, ziehen wir diesbezüglich nur 1 Stern ab und vergeben 4 Sterne – das jedoch ohne Einbezug des Preises des Artikels, den man ja bereits vor einer Bestellung kennt. -------------------- Ausführliche Produkt-Rezension -------------------- Beim Personenzählers von „SmartCoounter“ handelt es sich um zwei sehr einfache und leichte Kästchen aus Kunststoff die nur gerade mal 33 Gramm (Sender) bzw. 38 Gramm (Empfänger mit Display) – jeweils ohne Batterien gewogen – auf die Waage bringen. Die Grösse jedes Kästchens beträgt rund 5.5 cm x 8.5 cm. Die Kästchen sind soweit gut verarbeitet, es gibt keine Grate oder scharfe Kanten, an denen man sich verletzen könnte. Zum Betrieb von Sender und Empfänger benötigt man jeweils zwei AAA-Batterien, die nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten sind. Die beiden Kästchen sollen in einer Höhe von ca. 1.2 Metern und in einer Distanz von max. 5 Metern gegenüberliegend angebracht werden. Zur Befestigung liegen vier Klebepads bei, alternativ können die Kästchen auch an einem Aufhänger aufgehängt werden. Bei der Installation sollte man die Hinweise in der Bedienungsanleitung berücksichtigen, damit die Funktion nicht beeinträchtigt wird. Unter anderem mag das Gerät keine Sonneneinstrahlung und keine elektromagnetischen Quellen (z.B. Diebstahlschutz-Detektoren) in nächster Umgebung. In der Empfangseinheit hinter dem Batteriefach ist ein Schiebeschalter verborgen, mit dem eingestellt werden kann, ob jeder oder nur jeder zweite Durchlauf gezählt wird. Die gelieferten Zählergebnisse erachten wir als zuverlässig und durchaus realistisch, wobei wir das Gerät nicht über einen längeren Zeitraum mit hoher Personenfrequenz und einer alternativen Zählmethode testen konnten. Die Rückstellung des Zählers erfolgt über einen Magnetschlüssel, der kurz unter das Display der Empfangseinheit gehalten werden muss oder durch kurzes Entfernen der Batterien. Die Produktbeschreibung bei Amazon vermittelt einen guten Eindruck von den Eigenschaften des Zählers und entspricht den tatsächlichen Gegebenheiten. Broke down exactly a year after purchase. We have about 2500 footfall each month so it’s counted over 300000 in less than a year.

Me parece un producto de función tan básica como su calidad y diseño. Es una caja de plástico gris, muy discreta eso si, con una pequeña pantalla que cuenta cada vez que pasa alguien. Su funcionamiento es adecuado, y si queremos resetearlo y poner su contador a cero, debemos pasar una llave magnetica por delante y lo hará. Me parece demasiado caro para lo que es.
