HMYC Mazda Carplay and Android Auto Retrofit Kit, TK78-66-9U0C OEM Media Hub Fits to MZD Connect System, Compatible with Mazda 2/3/6/CX3/CX5/CX9/MX5 2015-2020 Year(Type-c Fast Charging Interface)

This HMYC Mazda CarPlay and Android Auto Retrofit Kit worked great and was a nice upgrade for the car. Once installed, it really makes the Mazda feel much more modern. Having CarPlay and Android Auto available is a huge improvement over pretending the old setup was “good enough.” Installation was pretty manageable with the help of a few YouTube videos. I would not say I magically became a Mazda technician overnight, but after watching enough clips and pausing at the right moments, everything came together nicely. The kit fit well, the Type-C fast charging interface is a great bonus, and everything has been working like it should. Overall, this is a solid upgrade if you want to add modern connectivity without replacing the whole car. Just bring some patience, a few tools, and maybe a healthy respect for plastic trim pieces.

This is actually the 2nd AndroidAuto/Carplay upgrade kit I have purchased. In 2019 shortly after I bought a 2016 CX-5 I ordered a upgrade kit that was available at that time. It worked fine for several years till 2023 when I upgraded my phone and started a 45min+ commute. Found the phone was loosing battery charge while driving and if used on a long trip could die completely. Also on long drives would disconnect and not work again till car was shut off and sat for awhile. (think was overloaded) So bought this new USB-C kit. Contacted their support who confirmed I could use the same wiring I had installed earlier. Used the trick to drill the 4 corners of the old module to break the clips and pulled it out without dismantling the dash this time. took all of 15 minutes to install. New module works great. Phone stays 100% charged and does not randomly disconnect like it used to. And for a under a $100 was an easy discission to upgrade. I would recommend anyone with a Mazda to order one. I did not get the Wireless version since I use Android only.

I went to the Mazda Dealership to upgrade the firmware, since my car's firmware was 54.0 something at that time, and the dealership said that they had to upgrade the firmware at 3 different stages to make sure that the firmware does not get fried. Later, I attached this kit in my cart. There are many tutorials out there, one thing that initially confused me was that the green and blue wires are supposed to connect side by side, which was not clear from those videos. Just something you know by trying. Also, I had to downgrade and upgrade Android auto in my mobile phone because it kept disconnecting at first. Once I restarted android auto (both in the car and in the mobile phone) a couple of times, it connected and has been connecting flawlessly ever since. I also attached a bluetooth android auto wireless device, so now I can connect with it any time I want without the wire. Also, the back camera and everything works, the knob also works. The touch screen does not work with Android auto, but that's okay. The touchscreen of Mazda 3 2014 is known to be sensitive, so it should not be used that much anyway. Overall, great product!

awesome wired carplay charging speed is also very good i get about 1-2% per min even while using andriod auto GPS on my s23 ultra and pixel10a, connection is secure just sometimes carplay doesnt start automatically if u plug in the phone to quick u have to give it like 5 seconds after the warning on the screen goes away , other then that its perfect! make sure to update ur maps and andriod auto on ur phone before using had issues on my pixel where the map would be blank

Installation wasn't too bad with some help from a couple of Youtube videos. You do have to drop the dash and pop out the screen. Everything is plug and play and you don't have to splice any wires. The instructions that come with this didn't help much. This was installed in a 2020 CX-5 and works great. Really nice to add carplay at a great price.

It works perfect. Quick install for software and easy to place. Think very good before you buy. With cable or wireless CarPlay I think i need to buy again but then wireless and sell the one i have now. Thats gonna be a easy sell for sure

I followed the instructions and ensured I had the latest firmware for Mazda Connect. USB1 is not recognized and the Apple Carplay and Android Auto options are greyed out. I did the following troubleshooting: (1) a soft reset of Mazda connect; (2) change the USB cables with 4 different ones to make sure it is not a cable issue; (3) tried 3 phones Google Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7 and IPhone 15; (4) disconnect and reconnect the cables that came with the media hub (green and blue); and (5) reset Mazda Connect to factory settings. None of them worked and the media hub is the issue. Now the auxiliary and the USB options in the input are no longer available to use. Wasted hours installing and days troubleshooting. Update: The seller contacted me and sent a replacement. I am giving 5 stars to the seller's customer service. Unfortunately, the replacement hub is still not recognized and it is likely the brown cable that connects with the head-unit. It is also possible that the newer USB-C needs to be supported with the latest Mazda connect updates installed before the hub was installed.

no stars would be more like it .... does not work, spent 1.5 hrs. doing a neat job taking my time insuring all was done properly and nothing. yes my firmware was up to date and i did get it to show android auto on screen but would not launch it (grayed out ) screen did come up saying to start aa follow instructions on phone but guess what no instructions on my phone . lets put into prospective i spent 95.00$ on aftermarket china junk plus my time instaling/uninstaling and ended up going with mazda oem hub in the end for a cost of 250.total. dont think you will save money YOU WONT. also only way for supposed coustomer support is a email address witch by the way when i sent a message would not even go through (undeliverd) NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE but hey it did look like it would work close but deffently no cigar ... god bless and good luck with this one

Works like a charm! Followed online videos for installation. Not extremely hard but best to be somewhat manual and understand car dash setups. If not, refer to pros.

Very easy to install by following a Youtube video and works great! I previously took another Mazda car to the Mazda dealership who quoted me $550 to install! Took me less than 1 hour to pop this device in and has a Type C connection which is always great. I've bought a big screen from eBay and replaced the original stock one with steering wheel hub but it didn't work properly and had constant issues. I've had this device for a while now and there is no lag, no disconnection, no issues whatsoever! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for the price!!

Excelente Módulo! Es exactamente igual al que viene original en mi Mazda 6 GT 2018. Funciona super fluido en el alámbrico (principal razón por la que quise el alámbrico, eso y el sonido que no se comprime como en el inalámbrico). Todo funciona como si así hubiera salido de fábrica. Solo una recomendación: si tu Mazda riene ventilas de AC para los asientos traseros, prepárate para desensamblar la consola central, porque de otra manera no podrás pasar el arnés por la consola central.

La llevo usando casi 1 año y me ha funcionado perfectamente en mi Mazda 3 de 2014.
