I can stand in front of the nvr at 2 feet and I cannot hear the drive making any kind of noise. I go back as far as it had recorded and call on the playback and I still hear nothing and see a very clear display. I have now bought 2 additional 8GB drives like this and have installed one of them with no problem or noise. The cost seems reasonable and the compatibility is there with no noise should be running without overheating then it should last for a long time. Have not had the drive for very long but will buy this drive for any additional needs that I have.
