Didn’t like this, doesn’t open easily, so can’t just open and get your waffle out. It’s also heavy being case iron, the hinge makes it unusable.

Very nice waffle maker. Some assembly required. I am always a fan of case iron supper durable, last forever when maintained. Easy to use, can use it with gas, electric, oven, even open flame or charcoal. It is very versatile. Just great stuff. This product seems well made. The heat distribution is even. Not super hard to clean. I do recommend a scrub brush. You well have to season it and put the handles on, but all and all a great value for the money.

This item sticks even after seasoning the waffle maker for an hour. I only cook with cast iron and have never experienced one to stick like this even after seasoning. Also, the way the hinge goes together it’s extremely difficult to open. Which is even worse while it’s hot which makes it impossible to cook multiple waffles. I thought the other bad reviews didn’t have experience with cast iron, but I see that is not the case.

Generally lackluster design. The wooden fittings do not securely attach to the pan's cast iron extensions. The attachment screws and metal collars are too short to ensure a tight lasting fit in the wood handle recesses and wobble as a result. The wooden handles are of a thin coated wood that offers dubious extended protection from heating. The two cast iron faceplates do not fit snuggly due to poor position and clearance at both the top hinge and handles so batter will overflow. Join at the hinge is with a supplied long thread screw with wing nut which presents an unfinished appearance and questionable durability. Depth of the plates and grid pattern do not allow making of Belgian waffles contrary to maker's claims. Given the weight of the product and it's poor ergonomics with the handles, I would certainly caution against using on flat glass cooktop surfaces--there is too much of a danger for damage to the cooktop during turning for uniform heating. This is a case where the modern electric small appliance wins out. While one can make the cases for use in camping or off the grid living, you'd be better off with an more utilitarian pan or griddle for making flapjacks.

i dont know how its able to be called a professional product when the thing dont even work the wy its designed let alone poor quality cast that doesnt allow the seasoning of the non stick coat that id done at least 6 times to do of any effect anything whatsoever but stick to the pan and ruin my breakfast multiplen times now shame on whoever said this product was good enough to sell it doesnt even sit flat

I really like this cast iron waffle maker. It’s solid, heavy-duty, and has that old-school feel that you just don’t get with an electric waffle maker. The cast iron holds heat really well and makes a great waffle with a nice crispy outside. The wooden handles are a nice touch and make it much easier to handle when everything is hot. Like any cast iron cookware, there’s a little bit of a learning curve with getting the heat and seasoning right, but once you figure it out, it works great. This would also be a great option for camping or cooking over a fire. If you enjoy cooking with cast iron, this is a fun addition to the collection. Five stars!

Since its an iron, its heavy as it is and the way they have made it, It’s so inconvenient to use. And no matter how much you grease them, your food will get stuck.

She has never been interested in cooking, yet he has always loved to cook. He has collected his own set of cast iron cookware. I am older and have trouble holding these heavy pieces of cookware, but I understand that they are really good cookware. This was once piece I didn't think he had and I was right! He was dumbstruck that I bought him a piece of cookware and yet he loved it! I know my daughter loves waffles so I'm betting the next day he has all the ingredients at hand (fruit, nuts, maple syrup, whipped cream, etc.), he will make them waffles with his new piece of cookware. If you know someone like my son-in-law who collects and cooks with cast iron exclusively, get this waffle maker to round out their collection - very much worth it!
