SMLIGHT SLZB-06M – A Zigbee 3.0 to Ethernet, USB, and WiFi Adapter with PoE Support, Works with Zigbee2MQTT, Home Assistant, ZHA

I'm using this PoE as my Home Assistant ZHA coordinator. It's great. Every device from SONOFF, Tuya, Sengled, Aqara, MOES, Inovelli and Ewelink that I have connected to/through it is working great. I did get two powerstrips from Jinvocloud and only one of them would pair, but I suspect that's more on the powerstrip than the coordinator.Radio signal is strong, these devices can also be re-configured for use with Zigbee2MQTT and as Zigbee signal repeaters. I haven't tried the Bluetooth repeater function, yet, but it has one. The web interface is snappy, software updates go quickly and smoothly. All told, it's just a great hub / device.

Essential if you are running zigbee2mqtt in a distributed system (in my case kubernetes), helps keep z2m running in a scenario where you can't relocate the typical zigbee USB dongle. works flawlessly, and the firmware update system is fantastic. the mounting capability is nice, and you can't beat POE flexibility to have multiple across your home. had no issues with range or reach. The small package is very powerful. Never had an issue with things not being compatible with it.

Changing roles requires flashing between different firmwares, which if that is something you have never done before, may be a bit confusing though it is all possible from a WebUI hosted on the device itself accessible through LAN/WiFi. If you are already familiar with Z2M, especially if your current coordinator is already not direct-attached USB, getting these devices deployed and configured should be well within your reach. I completely re-built my mesh after installation and fortified even more with some router-capable devices like smart plugs. We now have coverage to practically every square foot of our home.

Sometimes a product comes along that makes life much easier. This is one of them.I run Home Assistant via a virtual machine running on a Synology NAS.A Sonoff USB dongle connected to the NAS was my Zigbee coordinator.Once I had the Sonoff up and running, I was able to forget about it, because it just worked.The problems started whenever I had to unplug it from the NAS. Inevitably, the USB connectionwas forgotten by the Synology software and I had to remember how to turn it back on again, orthe USB drivers failed. When the drivers failed I was forced to SSH into the NAS and use command line entries to download, and hopefully install, the correct USB drivers. Because this only happened everycouple of years, it was always a challenge to remember how to fix the issue.I have the SMLIGHT connected directly into one of my network switches, and it's powered via POE.There are no drivers to worry about and it has a very nice web interface that allows complete controlof the device.In my opinion, one of the best features of the SMLIGHT is its ability to spoof the MAC address ofthe Sonoff dongle. Once the MAC address of the Sonoff was entered into the web interface of the SMLIGHT and it was rebooted, all of my devices just assumed that the SMLIGHT was the Sonoff, soI didn't have to repair any of them. Easy-peasy.The Sonoff was/is a nice piece of tech., but the SMLIGHT takes things to another level.

Purchased SLZB-06M and set it up as a router, but have not been able to get a consistent connection on Home Assistant (Zigbee/ZHA). Every few days to a week, it drops from the Zigbee mesh and then it takes several tries for me to either reconnect it or reset/repair it. All of my other zigbee devices are connected with no issues; this is the only device that has a problem. I've sent 2 tickets through the manufacturer and received no response. I've tried getting help via public forum but no luck there either.

Wanted to add some Zigbee devices to my home. This was the right controller.

Worked right out of the box with my home assistant configuration. It recognizes new and older Zigbee devices and super easy to manage.
