I had one fir must be 7 years but caught it on a pipe and snapped it. Didn’t hesitate to buy another.My colleagues have all got Kevlar or wire contraptions. This will outlast them by years and years. Unless like me your clumsy.Absolutely no problem with this at all. Good equipment.

Solid, robust and reliable, they are my first impressions of the Key-Bak KB 488.Yes you can pay peanuts for a retractable key ring, but if you pay a little more you get something so much better.Having read so many reviews where 'cheaper' key rings have failed within days I thought I'd get something that should last me.The quality of build is good, the retraction of the cable is smooth and it has just the tight amount of tension when you pull on it. The carabiner is also solid.Just be aware that this product is age restricted to 18 years and over. You will be required to produce ID such as a driving licence or passport to take delivery. I kid you not.The delivery man insisted my wife produce ID to prove she is over 18, she was somewhat surprised as even in Tesco she is not required to show ID when purchasing a bottle of wine. She has been 39 years old for a number of years and I believe she was secretly pleased to be asked. Of course after signing for it she opened the package because "I needed to see what kind of contraband you might have bought."Maybe she was disappointed it was only a key ring?Anyway, it's a well made solid product, if you insist on buying cheap then that's up to you, but this is worth the price.

Very good quality key holder. Main issue is its size, as other reviewers have noted. I have posted a photo of it beside a standard ballpoint pen, to give an idea of the size.It is robust. The carabiner at the top is metal, and holding up well so far. The extendable cord is strong, and recoils easily and smoothly. It easily held the four keys I had on it.I bought it to use at work, but it feels too large to use under a suit, at least to me. I have re-purposed it for use when I'm hillwalking, to give easy access to a compass. It works fine for that. Overall, very good, but do be aware of the size when purchasing.

I recently purchased an Apple iPhone 7 Plus (256GB), which represents a very considerable investment. The first 'essential' accessory I purchased for my iPhone was an armoured case to protect the iPhone. I purchased this case from Amazon and it is reviewed elsewhere. The second 'essential' accessory I purchased was the item I am reviewing here.One end of the KEY-BAK, the ring with the Kevlar cord attached, is fixed by a removal link to the encased iPhone so should the iPhone become detached from its belt-fitting holster/receptacle (very unlikely!) it will not be lost, rather it will be tethered to my trouser belt. This is literally a 'belt & braces' solution but it ensures total security for my iPhone.I chose the KEY-BAK because it is very well made and the Kevlar cord is super strong. The retracting mechanism is also strong and it has a smooth action, which bodes well for durability and reliability. Evidently the KEY-BAK is primarily intended for keys but my particular application/use is arguably more important. The KEY-BAK is expensive but its quality justifies the higher price.

Excellent product - a superior successor to my previous belt clip (Drapper) that kept breaking. Cord is good length and excellent material - it retracts perfectly every time. It clips into the belt loop of my trousers and hangs a little lower than my original as the clip and connector are separate from the wire housing but this has actually allowed me to either let my keys/badge hang freee or easily slip into my pocket when not required.It's great when something simply works and works well and after the continuous problems of my previous clip this has made me very happy.

Ignore the reviews saying this kep loop is massive, it's really not. From the top of the carabiner to the keryring at the bottom is about 10cm, if that.I use this product at work to get through the various security doors, and it does the job exactly as it should. The pull is smooth, and the retraction is fast and tight. The overall feel is if quality and craftsmanship.Very pleased.

Very long lasting, been using for years now, only problem is the little black plug the cable goes to near the key ring, the cable starts to come apart at this point, so i just cut it off and tied the cable to the key ring itself, lasts much longer this way, probably just the glue they used to secure it was causing the cable to lose flexibility. My only other gripe is that the little ring at the base of the wheel is plastic and wears out after a few years from the cable rubbing on it, would be better if it was metal, would last forever.Overall i highly recommend, been using for 6-7 years now, with minor problems only, had to take apart the first time when the cable came undone from the plastic plug, but like i say, if you just cut it from the plastic plug and tie it directly to the key chain, you wouldn't have this problem. obviously you don't put keys onto the key chain that you tie the string to, and just put an additional key ring onto that one and then use that one for the keys or whatever you are using.Great product, will buy again.

Don't be put off by the size of this thing. It looked ridiculously large for what it's meant to do, but the keys end up hanging right into front/back pockets (at least in my case), so I don't have to go around sounding like a reindeer on Christmas. Had a smaller Key-Bak years ago, that clipped on and jingle-jangled. I prefer this one.
